Love The Picture and story Hobie!( I wanna come to Hawaii and see all the lizards now!) My Husband has a Firebelly Toad...I think he's about 8 years old now....he has a aquarium tank all to himself, lots of plants in it, and a neverending supply of crickets. Sometimes he croaks a little mating call out, tho(no one to love!) :(

A friend has a farm for his restaurant in Kula. It's at 3500 feet. They've got lots of Jackson's chameleons. Very prehistoric looking.

I remember that the theatre had some chairs rigged with buzzers that vibrated during the movie!! And not the good kind!!

Here's a baby gecko that's been living in our Christmas decorations for the past week.

I was harvesting a banana beer plant this morning. After the bunch is cut off the tree is cut down as you only get one bunch in the life of the tree. I was picking up sections of the trunk and a 6" 'pead fell out. I was able to trap him under the trunk until the 'pead SWAT team (my wife) arrived with the bug spray. There's nothing more satisfying then to see them do the zambo oogie after they're hit with some Raid.

Muuuuhahahahahahahaha!!

We have lots of little lizardy things here in Florida - a batch of babies hatched on my back porch recently and the cats have been chasing them around. I'd catch 'em and put 'em outside but it's supposed to be too cold for them in the next few days and I don't want them to succumb to the cold. I'd rather they become fodder and entertainment for my kitties who are usually confined to the house. Sounds gross, I know.

Our neighbor in Hawaii used to come out every evening with her slipper and start whapping the geckoes on the outside of her house. For some reason she couldn't stand them. I bet she had more roaches than geckoes in her house, but she only went after the geckoes.

I remember the chair buzzers in Tingler. They also stopped the movie and a manager came up on the stage in front of the screen and told everyone that a Tingler was loose in the theater and we had to SSSCCCRRREEEAAAMMM as loud as we could so it wouldn't invade our bodies and climb into our spines. ACK!! I've never heard people screaming so loudly in my life!! I had nightmares for weeks after that movie.

Oh yeah, forgot about that one! hehe

Except I always view pagers as bad! My work pager would ALWAYS go off at two or three in the morning, when I was on call!! (crap!!) stupid thing buzzing all over the nightstand!! Tried to train one of the pups to chew it up, but they didn't like it, wanted their toys instead!!

Pagers... I almost forgot what those were, and then I saw a GSM with one the other day. I can't believe Disney still uses 'em.

Liz and I had a Water Dragon once. She was hatched with a lame foot, so no one wanted her at the pet shop, but we brought her home and loved and cared for her. What a beautiful lizard the water dragon is.
