Thought that was in September. Well, then, happy birthday, Grumpy Pirate!

ARRRRRRRRRH! I could never forget NTLAP Day! One of my Hanukkah gifts was a Johnny Depp "Pirate on Board" window sticker for my car... Goes great with my Mickey Head with Pirate Hat antenna ball! :D:

Edited to add: speaking of Johnny, Sweeney Todd is coming out this weekend! Sounds like a Christmas Eve party to me! (And yes, I am a Depp and Burton fanatic ever since Edward Scissorhands, but I've *always* been a pirate!)

Yeah!! I'm looking forward to that movie too!! I saw the play years ago, and think that Depp is "perfect" for the Sweeney Tood role!

(Been a pirate when it was still NTLAP, now its International TLAP Day!!

No Christmas gifts in this house. No shopping to do. Just a quiet relaxed day.
We give stuff as our kids need them or if I see something one will like. At 29 and 25 they prefer it that way.

I feel that too. My dad sent me a gift card, which was very generous of him as I know times are tough for him, and my mom isn't sending me anything although she told me she got a Mickey Mouse cookie jar for me fairly recently at the Disney Outlet near St. Augustine which she will give me when next she sees me (march with any luck--I feel like that's the same idea as what you do TH. She saw it probably a month or two ago, knew I would like it and got it for me, no holiday necessary!). And that is also very generous of her and it means a lot to me that she thinks of me when she sees Mickey. :) I had some nice bath things sent to my mom from one of my favorite websites, but it's nice to not have to exchange major gifts with my parents and sister...they all live far from me so shipping is a pain and we all know we love each other with or without gifts. The real shopping we do in this house is for each other (the roommates) and that's cool because, seeing each other every day of the year, we know what we need and like, so there's no risk of bad gift giving... The thing is, we started by giving each other one really great gift each our first year as a "family" back in our military training school, and it's just grown out of hand over the years...it's like we're trying to out-do each other and it can't be done until we've found the rarest and most wonderful gift ever, and we're all broke! :p: Oh well, I complain about it, but at the end of the day, I think it's kinda fun and I do love surprises! :D:
