Re: Big Wallaby I searched for you
Ours weighed in at about 80 lbs. Mac got slow racing in Florida and was cut at about 3.5 years old. His race name was Ripper. We weren't sure if that described his race style or what he did in the middle of the night.
We got him from a rescue organization in Cali. He was very calm and friendly with everyone. Occasionally, he tried to be the alpha dog of the house but a good talking to usually stopped that.
Greyhounds were not suppose to bark but when the first fire engine went by after we got him he found he had a voice. It seemed like he could go for almost a minute before taking a breath.

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

Re: Big Wallaby I searched for you
That's sweet! Does anybody know if grayhounds get along with other puppies? My roommates are kinda looking for a dog (taking their time so they do it right) and I'm keeping an ear to the ground for good breeds that will get along well in our household and get along with my puppy (aussie shepherd)... I think a grayhound and a shepherd would be an interesting mix, one would be tired from trying to herd something that's too fast, and the other would be confused, having never been herded before and being easily able to outrun the herder! :p:
Edited to add: and puppies are supposed to be stinky occaisionally...it's just another way of them telling you they love you!

Don't you hate when it's enough to wake you up? Had a cat do that one once... Wouldn't have been a problem, except that I was asleep and didn't notice until that aromatic moment he had adjusted with his butt just inches from my nose. I woke up to find that awful smell and the cat slamming into the dresser across the room. I assure you, it was unconscious.hobie16 wrote:His race name was Ripper. Sorry for all the netspeak but that made me laugh!

If I can work it out with my wife and some others, I would be very interested.

That is so funny it had me in tears. I haven't laughed this hard since I saw the Tim Conway dentist routine. :hysteria:Big Wallaby wrote:Don't you hate when it's enough to wake you up? Mac's best buddy at the local dog park was a small terrier named Molly. They got along great. Attitudes will vary depending on breed and temperment. Kinda like humans. :D:Kwahati wrote:That's sweet! Does anybody know if grayhounds get along with other puppies?

*when* exactly will that happen? When said guest is finished burning the CD? :D: Please, do tell, where oh where do we find such a beast? ;)Big Wallaby wrote:Had a great final run. Sorry you couldn't come aboard. I should have an MP3 out there on the internet somewhere. Of course, I can't release it, as it's property of Disney. But if some guest releases it because they thought it was funny, then if I find it I'll direct you to it. Hope you enjoyed your time here. Come back and see me on Safaris.
