You don't have to get to creative. The main thing we weren't allowed to take pictures of were the security gates at the rear of the park. There's not to much back there that could spoil the magic so the restrictions on picture taking seem to be lighter than the in park tours.
susislicker wrote:When in January? We will be going at the end of January again for my 29th birthday!!! ;) :p: Maybe we can meet there! We are talking the Walk In Walt's Footsteps Tour this trip along with the Holidaytime Tour. I want to do some of the others as well.
The Walk In Walt's Footsteps tour is one I really want to do when I eventually visit DL. I love Walt and the tour sounds like a lot of fun.
I need to start looking through theninfo at the tours and get them checked off! :D:

If you or your husband like steam trains at all, especially the MK trains, you'll enjoy the Magic Behind Our Steam Trains tour. I went on it and loved it.
Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.
We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious…

Now that's unusual. I haven't done my "Nickel Tour" of the Disney Railroads since Gordon and Mumford's book with the same title came out. How did you even hear about it?
For those who care, it really does cost a nickel, and can be given even without riding the train. In fact, it can be given without going inside the theme park!
And frankly, I think it's overpriced for what you get.

Again?!?
We are doing the Platinum pkg which will get us all the tours offered at no extra charge.
Not quite. You still have to book Zazu's "Misguided Tour" separately.
We took your advice Zazu and went for the 12th floor concierge at the Contemporary instead of 14th.
Smart *and* only 29 (again).

When I get back from that, am I supposed to file a Trip Report?

Weird, we were told the only pictures we could take was if a train was in it, that included the tow-train for the monorails. When did you go and who was your guide?

Back in July. I can't remember the guide's name, it was an older man who works as an engineer on the weekends mostly while working a normal 9-5 job during the week.
On the way to the roundhouse he told us to not take any pictures through a particular stretch because Disney didn't want pictures of their security gates getting out onto the net or anything. IIRC that was the only restriction he put on picture taking.

That's funny, we could have taken pictures of the gates as long as the train was in it. We were there in September, so either something changed or someone is not up to speed on picture policies. Who knows, cool tour though. It solidified my thoughts on wanting to be a Train engineer. In fact, I plan on taking that tour on our future visits to WDW just so I can geek out more on the trains.
I can see my interview now, "the trains are like routers, the tracks like ethernet and the people like packets. The stations are access points and the line running to the roundhouse is the console port used for maintenance on the network. You want to be nice to the packets and get them to their destination without fragmenting, dropping or ignoring them."

Oh. That's the SG Teleporter. Only problem is that bad connection, and the work order just never seems to get to the right people...
