Official SGT ADD thread
Forum rules
At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.
Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

You need to invest in a KVM at work, put your laptop on it UNDER you desk, and have it hot keyed to the desktop, then if some comes areound, one key stroke and your back to work!! (not that I would EVER do that !!!)

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

Oh, I have one of the few KVM switches that the entire IT division owns here in my office. And why bother hiding what I do? I still get my work done...often more promptly than people who have been around a lot longer than myself.GRUMPY PIRATE wrote:You need to invest in a KVM at work, put your laptop on it UNDER you desk, and have it hot keyed to the desktop, then if some comes areound, one key stroke and your back to work!! Three strikes and you be in for life, manditory
Four MC's murdered in the last four years

Re: Official SGT ADD thread
You must be at work right now! It is 8:07 here, so it is after 10 AM there. Boy, what I would have given for a job where I could post. I had 3 computers on my very large desk and had to schedule commercials for 3 radio stations. Each had their own computer to keep it separate so as not to log onto another station to schedule. That would have been disastrous. It was a LOT of work and I had no time with the slimy radio sales people throwing paper at me all day to enter and schedule! Ah, a little break would have been so nice and relaxing.... :)Kwahati wrote:Oh, I have one of the few KVM switches that the entire IT division owns here in my office. And why bother hiding what I do? I still get my work done...often more promptly than people who have been around a lot longer than myself. And yet I still find plenty of time all day at work to browse SGT. I actually only really use the KVM for those tedious reimaging and configuration tasks (actually, I have one of those scheduled today) but my desk machine is powerful enough to do several things at once, so I can stay on SGT all day... And then I get home after work and check the forums again... And then I often check them one last time before bed... And, like I've previously noted, I'm not shy about posting. I have a lot of opinions to share, but somehow I don't feel the need to post on *every* topic... (I'm not afraid of starting a contentious debate, as I'm sure people have noted, but there are certain topics and certain posts that I just let slide for one reason or another. Generally because I don't want to argue about certain subjects where there's *no* chance the other side will see the light.) :D:

Re: Official SGT ADD thread
We rely heavily on KVM's, I have three dual cores that I use for processing and data recovery, I have two shuttles that I use for imaging, one single core on the internet, (segrated), one on the (in-house) network and SAN (using fiber on that one!!)
Mostly once I get everything going, I just need to switch to each one from time to tim and check on it!!
I'll have more time for the SGT when I retire!!!

Ah.........No.
I know Vegemite.
A Long time ago....... in a state far far away, i used to work as an field tech for a company who make food container inspection equipment. One of our customers was Vegemite. We inspected the jars for proper seal. They should always remain sealed!
