When we were in line for IASM after the light show and snow the line of people was pretty long and the CM kept announcing for people to fill in all the space. We got a bit past her and the people in front of us were leaving a gap, so I yelled out in my official sounding voice to "please fill in all the available space", which without looking behind them they did. This girl behind me started to tell her friend that I sounded like a CM and I should be one. I agreed with them, but only thought about it. I did get asked if I was a WDW CM. I said nope, but I hope to be one day. I'd love to be a Disneyland CM, but I don't want to live in California, and the commute from Texas would SUCK!

I could live in Florida though...

Hey, if it's between the 30th and Jan. 2nd, you might be able to get the entire Marsupial Welcoming Committee. :D:

My kind of church show. I was the one who suggested for the last scene in our productions that we put "Jesus" into harness and tie him into bungee cords stretched from the ceiling. The disciples could hold onto him until time for the ascension, then boom, they let go.

I always figured he could just grab onto one of the ceiling beams -- and if he misses, hey, Second Coming. :D:

Sadly, no one ever took my idea seriously. :p:

Hi again peeps,

Love reading all your stories about spiels and what not. I was dork doing them cause I actually did those nutty flight attendant hand motions as I pointed the various exits in the theater. Sometimes the cast would sent out a few people to do it all in character - mainly in the box theater shows. When did a "theatrical concert" of the songs from O Brother Where are Thou - before it started, a couple of the cast came out and did this hilarious mini sketch -

Pa: "And them new fangled thingamabobbies ... ya know them cell-you-lar phones, Mama here dun' like em a single bit so we's gotta ask you ta turn em off..."

*audience implant starts taking pics of them with phone*

Mama: (A rather heavy set black girl with big booming voice) "DIDN'T PA JUST TELL YOU TO DONE PUT DAT AWAY!" *stomps toward implant* GIT OVER HERE! GIT OVER HERE CAUSE I GONNA WHUP SO HARD... DON'T CH'OU RUN AWAY FROM ME, YA HEAR .... I GONNA POP YOU WITH A SWITCH... WHEN YOU IN MAMA'S HOUSE YOU FOLLOW MAMA'S RULES..."
*Chases audience member out door*

We even did one "Intermission" announcement with Barbie dolls .... yeah, that was an odd one.

So, anyway .... I plan to head into Casting within the week, or at least when this gargantuan zit on my nose dissolves away. Why do such blemishes come at times when I LEAST need them? I honestly can't face an interview with a monster pimple, no matter how much concealer I put on it.

As for bringing in a resume, I really don't have a professional one - I have a theatrical one. As the sort of one an actor would hand in for auditions. I have head shots too. Would this also be necessary?

I'm such a novice, I know. But I hope I come across not looking like a complete newbie. I've always been good at interviews, but I am a little scared.

Any more tips? Send em my way!

-SM

Headshots aren't really important for regular casting, ie. ops roles. But I would bring them for an entertainment audition. As for the resume, if you don't have any previous work experience I would list your house mgmt responsibilities. But a theatrical resume is pretty much required for entertainment. Don't you worry about that zit, they come when you are more worried! Besides it's easier for you girls, you are at least allowed to wear some make-up. Every once in a while I will used tinted Clearasil creme if I have a particularly unsightly blemish, but it usually gets sweated off in the summer. :P

Along those lines, and particular type of resume they would like? How detailed?

(thinking about retirement and PT employment)

Well for me I only had three part-time jobs before I applied. I made sure to include special skills and education. Obviously for someone with more work history I would include more positions, but mostly those that relate closely to what you are applying for. ie. Manager positions if you are applying to be a coordinator, or Gardening work if you were applying for horticulture, etc.

So you're here now? Then I shall have to go bug people at The Land for a bit...

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?
