Phoenix's estimated population as of 2006 was 1,512,986, making it the fifth largest city in the United States. At 515 square miles, its city proper covers an area larger than those of New York City, Philadelphia, and Miami combined, making it the 10th largest land area for a city in the United States, and also resulting in lower population density than comparably sized cities.GRUMPY PIRATE wrote:Cool!! Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

He is actually trying to set an example for his kids now, he is straight. He was on our local morning show which is the BEST in the country in my humble opinion. You all can actually hear it here. http://www.thefox.com The show is on 6AM-10AM Denver time, so adjust for your time zone. Lewis and Floorwax, are two of the funniest and off the wall morning guys I have ever heard. You will even hear me on there once in a while when I call in on one of their call in bits. Really. Give them a listen. You will crack up. Anyway, Alice was in town and they were talking with him on the air and he sounds very lucid and together, not drugged out at all. He goes to the gym and plays golf in tournaments. I believe he even has his own charity tournament. He is a cool guy, sounds great and *The Masters* (what Lewis and Floorwax call themselves on the air) were remarking about his great tan!Big Wallaby wrote:A rocker playing golf... I just can't quite see it. But, whatever floats his boat!
EDIT: Depending on the drugs he might be on, does he actually see where the ball goes?

Yeahhhhh, parents own second house there. I have visited...during winter dont expect to go to a resteraunt BEFORE 7 P.M., when the Old..Ummm....more mature customers are done. And judging by the atmosphere of the few I have been to there, and other places, its where SG's go for the winter!!! Maybe near the university, but last time I was there, I stayed in a hotel near the university, and for a big city, everything closed VERY earily.susislicker wrote:Grumpy, Pheonix is actually a pretty happening kind of town. I just don't associate anything with Alice Cooper as Pheonix, MAYBE L.A., or NYC, or even Orlando!

Next to US AIrways Center - Phoenix Suns, concerts
Two blocks from Chase Field - Arizona Diamondbacks
Middle of business and entertainment district
Sounds like a fairly decent location to do some bidness.

Yeah, whatever. Enjoy your move there!! I got tired of the place when I had to go there three or four times a week for work.
Now Denver and SLC I liked, and DFW. Spent a lot of time in DFW area and liked the city's.

I have seen your pictures..BUT...DW says No. The bad part is that the Grandkids ae very close by, so if we do get another house when I retire, We will probably keep the California one, or downgrad to a condo here, so we can "visit" six or seven months!! (PLUS DISNEYLAND!!!!!!!)susislicker wrote:There is a really nice house for sale in Denver right now! I think I could get you a showing as soon as you want! :D:

ANd I hate to admit, but its sure nice not having to deal with winter weather!!
Several years ago I was on the "road" for six months, and did a lot of travel to Texas, back east and to SLC in winter weather, it REALLY made me realize how "California-ized" I had become.
