Thank you to all the CM's

Post by lttlsister » Tue Dec 04, 2007 3:44 pm

Ok - so I have lurked here for quite sometime and I think I posted once. I learned a lot and I thank you for that. But what I really what to thank you for is being you at the parks - I was actually looking for some of you - don't know if I found you or not, but I kept you and your comments in mind the whole trip.
We were there Nov 23 to Nov 30 and we had a GREAT trip - our boys are 5 & 7 and some CM's really went out of their way to be helpful!
We were able to ride up front in the monorail - the boys (and me) were crazy about that. We had a couple bus drivers who decided to turn the stupid canned speach off and talk to us themselves - THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! There is only so many times you can listen to the same thing over and over again.
I swore I was going to remember names - and I am sorry as I did not!
But - Crystal Palace - there were two CM's helping with the characters one morning and they were able to get Tigger back to our table for a second photo as I realized the first one was no good! MADE OUR DAY!
Mike at AK - told us how to go about making our way thru the park and we followed his direction - worked great!
Whispering Canyon Cafe - the best wait staff EVER!
Thanks to numerous CM's for pointing us in the right direction, pointing out every bathroom in the park and wishing me a happy birthday.
I seriously had a great time and more importantly my boys had a great time and I thank you for that - If you don't have kids I am not sure you can understand, but seeing that look on their faces is amazing and I thank you for making that look appear so many times!
You guys are great, please do not let those SG's get you down!
Lisa

Tell us about the drivers that talked to you. If either had a maniacal laugh, it was one of two people, and both are on this board.

Glad you had such a fun trip. Hope you'll come back and visit spoon.

Oh, and since I am sure we have never done it yet,

:welcome: to :sgt: from :wombat: and :wallaby: (who is occasionally known as :rufus :) !

I'll pass the word to Whispering Canyon. Dad works front desk at WL and sees most of them daily.

The bus driver that REALLY sticks out in my memory said he was from the Bronx, NY and yes, he had a different laugh! He really made us all laugh! Wow - I am trying to remember and it is all becoming a blur of days and different bus trips! One guys told us to tell the speach to "hush" (may have been the same one as above??) and then he gave us facts and fun stuff to talk about. We had one driver, very young, hispanic, if I remember correctly - he heared us talking about getting on the wrong bus (yes, I know - don't even say it) we were very tired and made a bad decision, but the other folks on the bus withe us had a ressie at AKL and we just wanted to get back to go to bed, anyway he overheard us talking about how we were going to connect and he called the dispacther and was able to take us directly to AKL! I was sooooo happy - I thanked him numerous times!
We had one driver who picked us up at AKL and as my 7 year old jumps in front of me to get on the bus first - the drivers says, step back and let your sister on first - I shook his hand! I realized that this was his "thing" as he did it most times a family got on!
I can not tell you how much we appreciated the transportion - it was GREAT and you guys were always so helpful!
There were so many grat ones, it is hard to remember them all!
Thanks again!

Oh - and yes we are coming back - in two years - we already have Canada scheduled for this summer - so it looks like Nov 2009!

On behalf we of all the CM's may I say a big
You're Welcome!
Grateful guests really make everything worth it. Especially those doubles that we so often pull. Working for Disney isn't a job, it's a lifestyle. Anyone who tells you otherwise should probably be looking for another line of work. We love to make magic for guests and really appreciate guests who understand that our duties are a little difficult sometimes. Glad you had a great trip and we hope to see you again real soon!

Reminds me of something I do on the bus, but I can't remember if I posted it here or not. Anyone remember something about me and a joke I make if I have a kid at the front of the bus?
