I'm not sure of the major theme parks, but I know we do have shopping passes at the water parks.

That I can understand. There might be merchandise in the water parks not available elsewhere (like swimwear and such), but elsewhere, you can put everything in World of Disney at DTD.Cheshire Figment wrote:I'm not sure of the major theme parks, but I know we do have shopping passes at the water parks.
My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?
Re: Guests Demanding Refunds
DLR actually rolled out the shopping pass after our WoD and DTD opened. The reason was to accommodate people who wanted specialized merchandise only available at certain stores, like Disneyana collectibles, or an embroidered Mickey Mouse ear hat (when I worked there hats were sold outside the parks, but the embroidery was only done inside).Big Wallaby wrote:We don't have the shopping pass at WDW, right? Please say we don't. With World of Disney and the rest of DTD, there's no reason, in my mind.
I don't know if this goes for WDW's WoD as well, but at DLR, the statement "WoD carries everything" just isn't true. They do carry almost all of the basic DLR souvenirs, clothing, etc., and they do carry items that aren't available anywhere else.

Yeah... I don't particularly like it when CMs send Guests to WOD for anything and everything. When a Guest asks me if WOD would carry Item X, I generally tell them that WOD will carry the more generic "Disneyland Resort" stuff, but not something specific to Disneyland Park, or Disney's California Adventure Park, such as a Splash Mountain picture frame or a Tower of Terror shotglass.

Re: Guests Demanding Refunds
W experienced that our last trip to WDW, but I think that it was just that the CM didn't know about ALL the merchandise that was carried there. I don't think that is a big deal, as we always seem to find something to buy!! Besides, DW and I only buy a few small things to commemorate our trip, a Polynesian resort magnet for the fridge, our picture on splash, A new Grumpy ball cap for me, and so forth. Most of the stuff we buy at WOD and other places if gifts for kids and grand kids, so we don't even see it very long!!Alyssa3467 wrote:Yeah... Re: Guests Demanding Refunds
I get asked by guests quite frequently where they can find a very specific, obscure souvenir, and being that I work Attractions, I have no freakin' clue. So my response is, "Check the Emporium. If they don't have it there, somewhere in there should know where you can find it."
As far as comp-ing guests goes, it is to my understanding that if during a Parade a guest is being troublesome and/or stubborn and will not move and you have to call Security, Security will simply try to find them some sort of priority seating to resolve the conflict. When I called them out on it, they said "Don't take it personally. We're just avoiding guest complaints and turning a bad situation into a good one." I just hate that they reward bad behavior, undermine our authority as Guest Control CMs, and give these guests something better than what other guests are getting because they're being ***holes. That, in my opinion, crosses the line.

Negative Reinforcement at it's finest. Dearest Hobie-San,
Could you please remove the Mrs Fields cookies from your signature? How do you expect me to lose 6 more pounds by March when you keep flashing those yummy looking cookies at me? And please don't replace it with Mrs Sees chocolates, either!
Mahalo.
