I always seem to get the most irrate guests.
Like the other day, I was working in Pooh Corner, in the honey spot, and we had a pretty busy line. As usual. Now, for some reason, guests don't ever SEE a line. They never see the 10 people already waiting to be helped. So I take two seconds out of helping the next guest to ask this couple who had been standing at the glass candy counter if they needed any help. They answered that they didn't need help, they were still just looking. I tell them when they're ready, they can just get into line and I'll be glad to help them. So I go on and help a few more guests. All of a sudden, as I'm helping a guest, the woman from the couple goes, "Um, EXCUSE ME!! We;ve been waiting here for 20 minutes for you to help us. You let three other guests go ahead of me"...and I tell her I'll be with her in a moment, I'm counting out change for the guest who is waiting. When I finish and give her my undivided attention, she tells me I LET others "cut" in front of them! I explained to her that's why I told them to "get in line" when they were ready...but then I apologized for not making myself clear enough and asked how I could now help them. She gets even more angry that I'm trying to remain calm and she tells me she thinks I'm rude for LETTING others cut in front of her...I tell her I didn't LET them cut, THEY were in line...and she was not. I then suggest to her that if she feels like she is ever in line and a guest EVER cuts in front of her, she should say something to the guest or the cast member. She then shuts up and sits there with this horribly sour look on her face. Her husband is just standing there looking all defeated and tells her to order. She orders a carmel apple...I ask "plain carmel? No toppings?" and she just glares at me. So I get the carmel apple...when I come back, she SCREAMS at me that she wants NUTS on it (like I'm supposed to know) and tells me I'm RUDE for telling her what she should do about the line situation! I tell her, "I'm sorry ma'am, I don't know what else to tell you. I tried to sincerely apologize to you. I don't WANT people to be upset here..." and so her husband proceeds to pay for the apple. I finish the transaction with a smile and a thank-you as I always do, even though I was seething inside. She demands very loudly to see my manager. I go get the lead, and suddenly the WHOLE STORY CHANGES!! Now she says that I PURPOSELY ignored them and took the next guests in line because I apparently "think I'm better than them"...as well as I suddenly started rolling and shaking my head at her and I pointed at her face...she claimed I was very aggressive. Even my lead laughed as the woman goes, "Look at her little smirk! Look! She's smirking at me!"....I walked away to the back of the store laughing at that point. The lead comes to me about 10 minutes later and tells me not to worry about it and that I should just take my break right then. As I leave the shop, the lady (and I use the term loosely) comes up to me and starts getting in my face about how I'm going to be fired. I say, "WHO is being aggressive NOW??" and she now decides she's from "the corporate offices of Disney" and tells me I'll be fired and never work for Disney again. I ask her if she is from the corporate offices, why didn't she use her discount for the apple? She goes, "what discount?"....I walked away at that point.
Some guests just want to lie and complain because they're miserable in their own little piddly lives.
Why me??

Honestly, don't people have anything better to do than give us crap? That's pretty funny, though, making up a story that she was from corporate.flippin_mermaid wrote:As I leave the shop, the lady (and I use the term loosely) comes up to me and starts getting in my face about how I'm going to be fired. A few weeks back we had a guest tell us he deserved special treatment because he worked for the government (probably sweeping trash at a city hall for some ghost town in the middle of nowhere) and that he was going to contact Michael Eisner and have us all fired. Then he had the nerve to ask us to have Michael Eisner come down. :bang:
yay my 100th post!! I'm finally a SGT groupie! :D
