Yeah, I remember that garbage of "no losers, no competition, everyone's a winner, blah, blah, blah" crap in the 80s. I cringed. If you want to be the best, you must compete. If you want the best grades, you must study hard, complete all assignments properly and hand them in on time, and if you want to get a better job, your skills must be better than the other applicants'.

You wanna hear some horror stories on what this has done to our country? Go over to the community forums on Monster--they'll give you nightmares!

As for people trying to get something for nothing--when I worked at Knott's, I remember seeing people older than me, who grew up in the era when you waited your turn, thought of others before yourself, etc., trying to pull scams. Like trying to get their grandkids on rides in Camp Snoopy when they didn't meet the height requirements. And I had a group of smartass teenagers say they didn't have very much fun, could they get a refund, and I told them no.
And don't get me started on what generally would happen when a guest decided to pull something, like blame an RO for something they didn't do, make a scene over the alleged incident, and of course Knott's management comes down hard on the RO and gives all the goodies to the guest. If you haven't heard the latest, go over to kbfdrama.com for the latest atrocities.
That park is headed downhill fast.

Glad you're out of there.

I had a great story given to me tonight, although I have difficulty remembering it. I was told this story on the Fort Wilderness bus, by a guest who works at Busch Garden Virginia. He's a roller coaster tech, and I told him of this site. Hope he makes his way here.

Haha...I saved my first post for a good one. I once had a guest swing his fake leg at me over the counter. Duck and cover!!!
Thing is, he came in and wanted a "front of the line pass" and I explained that there is no such thing, but I could give him a guest assistance card (GAC) which would put him in a handicap accessible line. That wasn't good enough. He had a fake leg and he was not going to stand in a line because he was disabled. Nevermind that he came in to ask for the GAC through the front entrance (the stairs) instead of the handicap accessible entrance on the side. No no no, he couldn't stand. I stood my ground and said I couldn't give him anything that would put him at the front of the line automatically, and he took off the leg to show me how fake it is (because apparently I didn't believe him). I stood my ground again and he began swinging it at my head and yelling. This was when my lead stepped in and called security and he was escorted RIGHT to the front of the line. The line for the park exit.

WDW should come up with a "PIA" card that you could give people like that, it ensures that they go to the END and stay there! It would allow everyone to pass him in line!! (Wonder how long it would take the SG to get the message)

Did security keep the leg for evidence?

He stood there fighting to not stand, very interesting. Mr. Layman had a fake leg and when it was worn out he would throw it in the trash. Imagine dumpster diving and seeing that.

Holy Crap, I WAS kidding! I did not think anyone would actually do something like this. Crap! BUT, here's the kicker (pun came out unexpectedly) he COULD stand on one leg to swing the other one at your head? He ain't disabled, he is *other abled* he has learned to deal with his disability quite well, I would say, if he can do that. But BOO to him for trying to use his disability to try to get to the front of the line. Boo HISS! Fie on him!

ToooTOOO Funny Guest Jockey! Sometimes the "ill" people are the most onery! Reminds me of the little old lady I used to have to put to bed at the convalescent hospital....First, you would have her remove her teeth so she wouldn't bite you....then when you would lean over to take off her shoes, she'd pull your hair!
