I had to do a cross country drive, and during one of my stops in Arizona or (New Mezxico?) the place had a lot of those types of t-shirts and the "Route 66" logo stuff. A lot of roadkill souvin-ears!!

As far as KSR, I am glad that I will be doing <12 mph. I understand that I am *much* more easily replaced than, say, the black rhinos.

You gotta figure the rhinos don't move a whole lot (or at least, very fast) so that should be some nice, tender meat...like veal! I'd be more than happy to do up a nice mushroom hunter's sauce and some micro-veggies to go with a very rare White Rhino Fillet! :D: (It probably just tastes like chicken anyway...)

Sadly, there I think there is only about 15 Northern White Rhinos left in the wild, so ask the Rhino where he is from, first!

According to the BBC, there are 13 northern white rhinos left. What'd you think I meant by "very rare"? Were you thinking of cooking temp? Cause everybody knows you cook wild game to medium-rare!

Does anybody remember the show Dinosaurs? There was a line that I absolutely loved and quote all the time, even though nobody knows where I got it from: "But there's always more! That's what 'more' means!" (For the record I'm a vegetarian and conservationist...and both species of rhino are rare enough that on a week long Safari through one of their prime habitats, they are the only animal of Africa's "Big 5" I did not get *any* footage of [any sub-species] That's one of the great things about Disney's AK: much greater likelihood of seeing some of the rarer animals...on the other hand, at AK, the lions are always sleeping just out of sight, whereas in Africa, they're always sleeping just off the road! You can't spit without hitting one and you can't flee to seek refuge from the war in the DRC without getting eaten by one!)

Edited to add: The Massai believe that lions are afraid of the color red. If anybody wants to borrow one of my Massai blankets (naturally, they're red), just let me know! Oh, and speaking of African wares, we all know Disney's prices are inflated, but there are none worse than the prices of the stuff from Africa sold at both AK and Epcot. I swear: last week I saw a giraffe mask at epcot selling for $45. For the exact same mask in Tanzania (where that is a very common style of mask) I paid $5...and I was being generous! I know there's an argument to be made about airfare to Africa costing a little more than $40, but c'mon people! Expand your horizons! Meet some Massai before they all die out from AIDS because missionaries keep telling them to not use condoms!

I've never heard of missionaries telling people not to use condoms. I have heard from some missionary friends, however, that a widespread belief in Africa is that AIDS can be cured by having sex with a young virgin. This spreads the virus farther, and since this is rape, a lot of young girls are being infected with AIDS, traumatized psychologically and since they are no longer virgins, they are worthless as brides. This brings a great hardship on their families. Please get your facts straight.

With all due respect, friend, talk to me when you've gone there and listened to what those people say to the locals. I've heard a lot of fairly unbelievable things (unbelievable until you witness them) including outright bribing of tribes to make them "believe" whatever religion one is preaching (in the case I witnessed, it was catholicism). Yes, though, you are right that there are problems with a lack of sexual education in many areas, but this is not helped by missionaries who don't understand the culture and their vain attempts to "help" or "save" the locals.
