Yes, this is indelicate, but I have found that showing security a bag containing feminine hygiene products gets you whisked thru everytime-hope none of you are Al Quaida

A used diaper or 2 might do the trick too. LOL I do have to admit I am evil minded but it was too good of an opportunity to miss messing with a young'uns head. LOL

I feel like I was looking the wrong direction when this thread went from "SG's posing a security risk" to "SGTers posing a security risk."

Yo, it's one universal law but two sides to every story
Three strikes and you be in for life, manditory
Four MC's murdered in the last four years
I ain't tryin to be the fifth one, the millenium is here.

Re: SGs Posing A Security Risk
Serveral years ago there was someone who I remember making a suggestion of a way to keep people from walking off with your stroller. Take a cloth that resembles a diaper, pour an entire coke onto the middle of it, and then stuff it in a zipliock bag. Leaving one of these packages prominently on the seat or hanging from the handle tends to make everyone avoid that particular stoller. When it is wadded up in the bag it is just anonimous enough while giving the intended impression.vixen101485 wrote:A used diaper or 2 might do the trick too. So some similar artistic prop, with no verbal explaination, may be good enough. If you really want to mess with them, a rolled up sandwich bag with a roll of cheese cloth and a few drops of cherry cola or catchup, and the bag wadded into a tube and held together with a rubberband. One glance and every male for miles will run, not walk, away.
(the only thing worse than an SG is an SG with PMS!)

Well we have to prove we can be more creative than the SGs. And as was pointed out, knowing what kind of tricks CAN be played can help weed out the stupid tricks from the truly dangerous tricks. right?Kwahati wrote:I feel like I was looking the wrong direction when this thread went from "SG's posing a security risk" to "SGTers posing a security risk."![]()

Re: SGs Posing A Security Risk
I have to say i'm a bit suprised by the things people leave in strollers at the parks. i would think theft from strollers would be hugh at theme parks.
as far as security goes, I read a book published by the WD company on customer service where they said all cast members get some training on security, i think its mainly reconizing situations and who to call. The security people at the checkpoints are not there to really "search" you or your bags. As one person stated they left a park when they felt security was too tight, but we all must remember these parks are private property and they have a right to search you and your belongings. The security at the checkpoints is akin to the Walmart greeter, who believe it or not is a security measure. They are not there to really look, but to send the messege to everyone who enters "we see you, we know your here" they are there to discourage you from stealing or doing things you shouldnt be doing. In this case taking things into the parks you are not supposed to take in.
Over the last few years I have seen secuity with dogs at DL, I know there are CCTV cameras in many places, uniformed secuirty and plain cloths secuity, and these are the people that are intrusted with security and the company is not going to share everything they are doing with the world. If we all knew what lengths they were goiing to we could sercumvent them with no problem. While I was at DL the week before thanksgiving week I even saw a plain cloths police officer in the park walking in the hub, badge and gun in plain view and that was a first for me.
As far as unattended bags, here in the US we are almost oblivious to this sort of thing, in many countries if you set down a bag and try to walk away people start yelling for the police before you get very far.

Re: SGs Posing A Security Risk
when i was using a stroller it was not at all unusual for me to leave bags in the stroller when we'd go on the rides...er...attractions...there was no way i was going to drag a diaper bag along with me...we also would bring changes of clothes for the kids and ourselves (no locker was needed since we had a place to stash this stuff in the stroller...and we never worried that someone was going to steal our stuff...it just never happened...it was disneyland and things like that just never happened there)...even now when elyse and i go we tell each other that if a locker is not available we'll just get a stroller to "carry" our stuff (we take a lot of stuff with us if we're going to be there for a long day)...there's no way we could possibly carry it all with us...we also know the possibility of having it taken is all on us and not on disneyland...that's the risk we run...too bad people have changed so much over the years, but that's the sad truth...we've even had rented wheelchairs go missing (something that would never have happened in years past, but that's not disneyland's fault...it's the fault of parents who never taught their children the difference between right and wrong)...but to automatically think something horrible is happening just because someone left a bag in their stroller is being ridiculous...people are not going to carry their stuff with them all of the time if they have a place they feel they can safely leave it for a short amount of time...it's so sad that things have deteriorated like this to make people so suspicious of a simple bag left in a stroller :(

Re: SGs Posing A Security Risk
I must say, that I am amazed about the trust shown. When DW and I go to WDW or DL, we always see the bags left in strollers, and ECV's without a thought of security.
When we go with DIL and Grand kids, she has the littlest in a stroller and leaves her "kid stuff" in when going on attractions. I guess we just believe in Disney Security!!!
