Re: Guests Demanding Refunds
Deal with disappointment, and be able to move on. Quickly.
Also, work hard and work to experience disappointment as little as possible. It'll still happen, but you can minimize it.
Gotta stop telling kids they can be whatever they want. Especially if they're from Arizona and want to be President of the United States. Sorry, darph.
Kids can be astronauts, writers, teachers, CEOs, lawyers, doctors... but as much as they may want it, they can never grow up and be a pony. I know that one from experience.

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

Hey now...Look at the boy we got in there now, from Maine, er, Texas, er Maine, uh who knows where he actually is from. BUT, he was able to become President, it just goes to show ya, *anyone* CAN become President!Big Wallaby wrote: Gotta stop telling kids they can be whatever they want. There used to be a stand up comedian, I don't remember which one, that did a bit about this! One of the punch lines was, "Hey, sure you'll be CEO someday, now put fries in that bag, and give it to the customer" or something similar.
I then I remember Bobcat Goldweithe (SP?) that did one when the Top Gun movie came out, about the guy chipping pain on the navy ship, asking when he could fly the jet! (Just keep chipping that paint, we'll let you know when!)
I have seen this in some of my (graduate) students. I always aske them how they are going to use the degree in their carreer. A LOT of them think that they are going to walk into a 100K a year job, right off the bat!
(almost all of the military vets students think otherwise!)

Yeah, as long as you're super rich. Forget actually being qualified for the job, you just need millions of dollars to spend on campaigning.susislicker wrote:BUT, he was able to become President, it just goes to show ya, *anyone* CAN become President!

Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.

I have a question for those that work at DLR or WDW. Do they "track" these SG's who try and "scam" refunds, free stuff, etc?
I would think that it would be in their best interest to do so!

You bet they do. I know a couple people in F&B management with some awesome stories of that.

That's not the only problem. Some of those kids will undoubtedly end up becoming managers or directors, or "in charge" of something at some point in their lives. At that point, IMO, is when the cycle becomes complete. That is when they will reward all their employees for a "job well done" when all of them have not done well.susislicker wrote:Exactly. People need to learn that the world is not perfect and that you do not always win no matter what. They need to learn to deal with disappointment.

You mean like a certain senator from NY who has raised over $35 MILLION dollars so far, hung on to the coattails of her lying, cheating husband, carpet bagged her way into a senate seat in NY, all because of her name? This is the same person who instituted "education reform" in her ex-home state of Arkansas, where that "education reform" has made the state of Arkansas dead LAST in the national educational system in the United States, and is basically the same "reform" plan for health care?Shorty82 wrote:Yeah, as long as you're super rich.
