Ashes to ashes, dust to... Disneyland???

Post by BRWombat » Tue Nov 13, 2007 2:46 pm

Okay, this is a new one:
Speaking of vandalism, there's been a growing list of incidents perpetrated on attractions at Disneyland that are not only illegal but that are increasingly, well... let's just say disturbing.

The big problem isn't graffiti or hot-to-trot teens in a back row, it's park visitors smuggling in the cremated remains of their loved ones and then spreading the ashes inside a favorite attraction. The Haunted Mansion is by far the most popular location for this, but you'd be surprised where else people are dumping cremated remains at Disneyland.

The rest of the article is here. Yikes!!!

BTW, this gives us a new abbreviation/radio call for the list: a "HEPA cleanup"!

I second that. Not a very honorable way to pay respect to a loved one. But that's just my view.

What if the ashes were packed into one of the fireworks and shot off during Wishes, Hallowishes, or during the MVMCP ?

I thought WDW had a crematorium on property?

I wonder how much a "Plot" at the HM graveyard would cost? Can you get a cool statue like the pets do? :p:

Not a crematorium. I think you're thinking of the deep-freeze locker where they store Walt. Or maybe the missile silo. :D:

It is actually a violation of state law to do tht, according to what I looked up.there are several sections of the California health and safety code (H&S) that say its a violation to scatter ashes that co-mingle with other reamins, the exception is at sea! And so on..

I would think tht Disney security and the PD would try and do something about this, as according to the state law, you must have permission to scatter remains.

(also, through experience, sometimes the remains are NOT all dust!)
