Great, now I'm going to have to go there for lunch tomorrow on my day off.... ;)

There's also a chain called Red Robin that has some decent (and interesting) burgers. The only one here in Massachusetts is about 3 miles from my apartment. It's based out of Washington state, and appears to mostly be a West Coast chain, though they're sprinkled around the country. (Their webite says 350 locations) Looks like Florida just got their first location, down in Fort Meyers.

That's where the only Red Robin is that I know of in MA.

Friendly's is so so. When we used to go out for ice cream, we usually went to Peaceful Meadows. YUM!!!!

DW took me to a Legal seafood in Braintree when we were there, Bacon wrapped shrimp..(MMMMmmmmm) she had her favorite, the Chowder. That is my second favorite. (Friendlys frys, Mmmmmm) (plus a FREE sunday!!!)

Down here in FL, I'm sorry, the seafood sucks. Went to Joe's Crab Shack the other night (my boy works there, get's a discount on food). Good, in fact, very good calimari but let's not talk about the shrimp and fish plate.

I'm surprised that, in a place surrounded by the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean, you would have bad seafood.

The last time I went to Legal's, I had the surf and turf (shrimp and scallops with a boneless filet). It was amazing. We have some really good sushi places up here in Boston.

I went to high school just outside of Plymouth and I had some friends who worked down on the waterfront. Those were some pretty good restaurants.

Of course, we've got the Barking Crab here in Boston, among other places...

It's sad but true. I've been quite unimpressed, unless I break down and get sushi. For that, there are some good places here. But nothing like Sushi Time in Beaverton, OR, on the corner of Progress and Scholls Ferry Rd.

Enroute from Vancouver, Washington, to the coast one summer, we passed a restaurant called The Rusty Tractor with lots of cars parked out front, and an old rusty tractor parked on the roof. We stopped for lunch and I ordered a Yak Burger. Yes, it's really made from yak meat, and they even have their own herd of yaks they raise. The meat was very lean but tasty. I had to put extra mayo on the burger since it was a little dry. That's about as exotic as I want to get.

Was it's name really Yak in the Box????? :twisted:

There was a Jack in the Box on Rt 44 in Raynham. Or at least there was one when I left MA permanently last Nov.

What I really miss is good seafood. I used to go to the Plymouth waterfront and go to Woods Seafood. Huge plates, reasonably priced (the tourists really did not go there, they went to the Lobster Hut down the street) Down here in FL, I'm sorry, the seafood sucks. Love Sonic, there is one about 3 miles from the house. Also, Steak and Shake. Some of the best shakes I have ever had.

Joe's Crab Shack is a chain!!!! We have one here in Denver. That is NOT seafood! It is frozen, shipped and frozen again and then breaded in alot of crap and then served like it was some feast from the sea... Try Bonefish Restaurant, it is also a chain, but when we ate at the one in Ocala, it was awesome. I think they have a Bonefish Restaurant in Orlando area. You need to find the little places on the coast!
I miss seafood as well. Having lived 40 miles from San Franciso most of my life, then 10 minutes from Bodega Bay on the NorCal coast for the rest, these past 7 years in the middle of the country have been torture!!!!! Sheer and painful torture. I love shellfish and shark and abalone, AI-YI-YI, ABALONE steaks are the best thing since... since...since the fish crawled up on the land and became critters... and...Gahhhhhh...I am making myself crazy....I always liked the Friday Night Fish Frys that my sis took me to when I visited her in North Carolina. She is not there anymore, but one of my all time favoritist things in the whole wide world are the fattening hush puppies!!!!! OMG!!!! Nothing beats southern hush puppies!!!! I cannot wait to move to Florida where at least you are near the ocean, you must have fresh fish there!!!!! Now I am sad. :( ..I cannot have fresh fish, except trout, which I don't like all that much...I want crab and lobsta and scallops and hush puppies for breakfast! :p:

There are some awesome family-owned seafood places in Southeast Texas where I lived for quite a while, with lots of fresh Gulf seafood each day. As for chains, I just recently discovered a place called Ralph & Kacoos. It's a small chain so far -- only five restaurants, all in Louisiana or Texas -- and it's a bit pricey, but the food is awesome. The seafood is every bit as good as those coastal places.
