Red Robin Burgers ROCK!!!!! We have one across town that we used to have lunch at all the time. Have not been in a while...Need to go back soon, thanks for the reminder. Mmmmmmmmm...burgers! :hamburg: :eat:
Actually I make the best burger on the planet. It is made of ground sirloin or the leanest ground beef you can find. You use a french roll, shredded mozzarella and garlic butter. You toast the buns with the garlic butter and shredded mozarella until the cheeses melts, then place your burger (Burger is shaped and cooked to fit the length of the french roll) on it with sauteed mushrooms, and all the condiments you like, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles and the final taste treat; 1000 island dressing with a little hot ground mustard or Grey Poupon which ever you like better. The burgers are made with garlic powder, salt and pepper and you could even add a couple tablespoons of barbeque sauce to the mix when making and shaping the burgers. They are sooooooo....good and just drip when you eat em. If you don't get messy eating a burger, it is not a *real* burger.
This is a taste treat. If we ever have a big ole giant SGT family reunion at the Fort Wilderness campground, I will make the burgers for you. I expect you Texans to make me some of the best ribs. I love ribs! St. Louis, Southern style , I don't care, I just love BBQ ribs. :p:

MMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmm(DROOL!!!)

We went shopping at Trader Joes and got some Buffalo burgers. The meat is so lean that we had to put a little oil in the pan to fry them. The flavor is much more "robust" that any hamburger I have had. Mmmmm!!!

HAHA I had a patient who left AMA from our local hospital because we couldn't accommodate his preferred diet....one request was "Buffalo Meat".
Ummm,yeah.OK.
We do have a local diner who serves them, tho.
Another patient would demand the equivalent of 5 HUGE breakfasts, lunches, or dinners at every mealtime. She was just regular-sized,couldn't eat it all, she just liked the idea of getting special attention and she was totally bizarre.
Her diagnosis? Abdominal Pain.

Man, I miss Trader Joes. We don't have em in Colorado. That is one place Ralphie would go to every other day. We did so much of our shopping at Trader Joes. They are awesome. That is where you can get 2 Buck Chuck!!!!! Know about that???? :D:

LOOOVE Whataburger's onion rings. They are the best I've found anywhere. I don't have a problem with their burgers -- as you can tell from my picture -- but I don't go out of my way for them. I do like their "Breakfast on a Bun" -- sausage patty, fried egg and cheese on a toasted, buttered hamburger bun. Yum.
Big Wallaby wrote:If you get a chance at Red Robin, try their grown up strawberry lemonade.

And they have tons of different burgers to choose from... when I used to go in there, it would take me half an hour to decide what burger to get.
Red Robin is awesome, but also pricey, so we don't eat there that often. My fave is the Banzai burger, which includes teriyaki sauce and grilled pineapple rings!

Okay, I really shouldn't be writing these posts on an empty stomach...

Hear, hear! Hoping Liz and I are in the new place so we can invite you over for dinner. I'll have to rustle up some salmon (none of that Atlantic crap) and you can make the burgers!

Trader Joes: Awful commercials with absolutely no production value whatsoever(that always ended with "Thanks for listening"), but they always made up for their bad commercials once you walked in the store.

Oh yeah!!! DW likes it, I can tolerate a glass once in a while (hehehe)

The Buffalo burgers were an "impulse" buy, but I am impressed with them!! They also have these chicken Spicy" burger patties that you almost don't need anything on them when eating them. Yummie!!!!!

When we first started shopping there, I wasn't too thrilled. I thought it was a yuppie store, but everything that we get there is top quality. (current favorite is the christmas JoJo cookies (think oreo's, except the cookie REALLY tastes like chocolate and the filling is a peppermint cream) (christmas/holidays only) AND OF COURSE they have the BEST Kona coffee beans!!! (I am already plotting to take some to WDW next trip!!)

Enroute from Vancouver, Washington, to the coast one summer, we passed a restaurant called The Rusty Tractor with lots of cars parked out front, and an old rusty tractor parked on the roof. We stopped for lunch and I ordered a Yak Burger. Yes, it's really made from yak meat, and they even have their own herd of yaks they raise. The meat was very lean but tasty. I had to put extra mayo on the burger since it was a little dry. That's about as exotic as I want to get.

goofyjoe wrote:Cranbiz, I'm from MA and I've never seen a Jack-In-The-Box or Sonic anywhere in New England, much less been to one. I think the first time I saw them was when I was 18 and spent a week in Oklahoma City. They had every kind of fast-food joint imaginable. They even had a local specialty called "Mama Lou's" that was open 24 hours - but it didn't look too appetizing.

Can you talk to someone down there to get them to open an Earl of Sandwich up here in Boston? :D:
There was a Jack in the Box on Rt 44 in Raynham. Or at least there was one when I left MA permanently last Nov.

What I really miss is good seafood. I used to go to the Plymouth waterfront and go to Woods Seafood. Huge plates, reasonably priced (the tourists really did not go there, they went to the Lobster Hut down the street) Down here in FL, I'm sorry, the seafood sucks. Went to Joe's Crab Shack the other night (my boy works there, get's a discount on food). Good, in fact, very good calimari but let's not talk about the shrimp and fish plate.

I also miss Legal Seafoods Chowder. The New England style clam chowderdown here, is definately, not New England style.

Boy, do I wish the Mattapoisett Chower House still shipped. Give me a quart of Chowder Base. Please!

Love Sonic, there is one about 3 miles from the house. Also, Steak and Shake. Some of the best shakes I have ever had.
