YOu can borrow the munchkin for a while BIG W. She will cure you of any desire to want to sire children. LOL You have seen her first hand and saw how active she was. That was mild.

Kids are so worth it. Abby is so much fun, and I can't wait to find out what the next one will be. If it is 1/2 as good as Abby is (minus dinner at Brown Derby...), then we'll be really blessed.

Re: Just castrate me now...
Big Wallaby the problem is not the kids, the problem is the parents. Sometimes I want to beat parents with a stick. Honestly some people are so dang selfish! Take for example what happen to my husband and I.
BTW, you'll excuse me if I use your thread to rant about parents, but I just need it.
It's bad enough that I have to watch out for guest children but it's even worst when bad behavior occurs when those children are either family or children from friends. My husband and I went to the park with someone from the family that was in town, which included their four children. Now, first let me say that I have seen families with 7 kids and the number of children doesn't excuse the bad behavior. In fact the last one is not even 2 years old so she doesn't count. However his little brothers and sister where a nightmare. Worst part is that parents will tell them not to do something and they would keep on doing it. If my children hear from me a 'don't do...' they know to stop instantly, that is if they ever want to sit down again. I don't repeat myself more than twice, third time comes with some form of blow.
These kids were savages and the parents had no parental skills or rules. Excuse me if this offends anyone but some parents are wimps! These kids will stand and dance on chairs, climb on railings, go into a store and create a mess, they would not pick up after themselves when they finish eating, pick on the characters... you get my drift. Me, off course, trailing behind with a nervous breakdown all the way. Because I don't want to overstep my boundaries, after all this aren't my kids.
However, by closing time I just. could. not. take. it. anymore!!!! I blew up, higher than the fireworks. When the kid went to do yet another thing wrong; I literally yell at him (BTW, it was something I'm constantly saying kids not to do) and then I grabbed him, sat him down and just could not stop myself from going on and on about his behavior. Looking back perhaps it wasn't one of my most shinning moments, but in my defense every button I had, was pushed to the limit. As if it wasn't enough I went off on the mother too and finished off with the father. Needless to say our trip ended shortly after, and I don't think they will be visiting us any time soon or ever hopefully. To be honest, next time they are in town I'm going to be very sick, don't know when would that be; but I will guarantee you that I'll be sick and that it will be very contagious.
For crying out loud people what the hell does it cost you to clean a freaking table!!! If you ate in it, then dump the trash when you're done. In the name of all that's holly, the trash can is RIGHT THERE!! How are you expecting to teach your kids manners if you get up from the table and leave without throwing your trash. I mean the kids don't know any better so they do the same. The parents however... Jesus Christ you have brains, used them! Pick the trash, put it on the trash can. It's a simple thing!
I remember being kid and I remember how fun it was to balance yourself on railings or jumping in the bed. Now as an adult I know why my mother was constantly telling me to step down, or not to climb out on places. The bottom line is, it's a dangerous thing. So naturally it leaves me speechless when grown adults see their children doing something dangerous and need to tell them twice, three or four times not to do it. The kicker is that the kids, even after four times, keeps on doing it! Common folks! Get some ... and act like a parent. I don't need to tell my kids twice not to do something. It is bizarre that me, a stranger, handles your kids better than you do! You would think that this kid would have gotten snippy with me afterwards. From then on I didn't have to tell him to do anything twice. If I can do it, then why can't you?! It seems obvious that the kids CAN learn to behave, but to do that they need a REAL ADULT to teach them. This people are not adults, they are children themselves.
I hate to malignant my own race but some woman deserved to get beaten with a stick. Lord please give me patience for woman that are so damn lazy that allow their children to live on snacks and fast food. You know, a poor diet put kids to get in a bad mood because they are running on their last resources that their body have. Learn to cook! Honestly, I understand that some people don't like it. However there are two choices here: Learn to cook and feed your family real food or allow them to run into a constant state of hunger and starvation because you're too lazy. BTW, the fact that you mostly get fast food because you don't have time is nothing to be proud about. I mean really I like going to McDonalds, but on a regular basis? Err... no, thank you. The kids I was with are in a constant bad mood. Why? Because they have a poor diet. You don't need a genius to see that. You only need a responsible adult to see that.
What happens to manners? Really what the heck happen to them? Parents don't have them, so off course the kids don't have them either. After all they didn't come with that install on their brain. However every time I see an adult with the worst possible manners I don't know if to cry or rage. Seriously why can't people teach manners to the kids?
But you know what freaking kills me? That this people call themselves super parents, and the hypocrisy that comes with it, gives me a mind blowing headache. This are the same people that have the face to criticize Britney Spears for driving with her son on her lap or having the wrong fit in the car seat, yet they aren't any better themselves. This are the same parents that can't teach manners to their kids, or to pick up after themselves, or to even be respectful to adults. They have them running on fast food and allow them to stand on a very high railing, dance in front of cars and knock other people out, just because they are in their way. Britney Spears may not be perfect, but between her parental skills and yours, I'm betting on hers.
Rant over, Thank You for letting me vent.

Very good. I agree it's the parents. My neighbor lets his little darling get away with murder. When you point out his behavior he replies, "That's my boy!"Tinker Bell wrote:Rant over, Thank You for letting me vent.
Some day the kid will be busted for something cool and daddy will be saying, "What happened to my boy?"

Re: Just castrate me now...
I'll leave having children to my brother and his wife. I'd rather have nieces and nephews to spoil than kids of my own (I don't even know if they ever plan on having kids). I love children but don't want to have to deal with them 24/7. Maybe in years to come I'll want kids but for the foreseeable future I have no desire to ever have them.darph nader wrote:Let me give you some advise. Castration ,,,,NO. Kids are work(you gotta love them though)
Kids give you G-KIDS (more fun,b/c you give them 'back to 'your' kids. Pay-Backs are 'sooo' much FUN)![]()
Some people just shouldn't have children. Sometimes I think there should be a test and license to have kids. You have to be trained and licensed to drive but anybody can bring a life into the world with no training at all, what's with that?

HEAR! HEAR! Tinkerbell! You have said everything I have thought at one time or another. There are some folks who just should not be parents. Period. Then there are the parents that you want to run up and give a big hug to...the ones who are raising the next generation to be great people.
It irks me that it is due to laziness on the part of the bad parents that they just let little Jimmy or Susie ;) get away with what could only be dangerous and you know they are gonna sue if the kid gets hurt while breaking the rules! If you do not want to be a parent, USE PROTECTION! My dad always said the best birth control is the pill...held between the knees!

And let's not forget that people who want to have children but can't because they are infertile or for whatever other reason can't have kids naturally on their own, have to go through all kinds of evaluations of their financial situation, mental health, etc before they can adopt a child.Shorty82 wrote:Some people just shouldn't have children. Studies have shown there are six positions that can be used while holding a pill between the knees.susislicker wrote:My dad always said the best birth control is the pill...held between the knees!
There is a new birth control device on the market for men. It's a ball bearing about a eighth inch in diameter. You put in in your shoe and it makes you limp.

Oh, hobie <groan>. :D:
Wallaby, the quality of your experiencing with kids is affected by your parenting, and from all the examples you've been exposed to, good and bad, in your work, you're several steps ahead of the game compared to most people. As stated here earlier, kids are work, yes, but some the most rewarding work you will ever find! (And I'm not even to the grandparent stage yet -- not for quite a while, I hope!!!)
I don't begrudge anyone who chooses not to have kids. (Quite frankly, given the average quality of parenting out there, I often think the world would be better off if more people decided that, although experience shows that that particular decision never seems to occur to the people least suited to being parents!) But don't let exposure to SG's and their SG's-in-training make the decision for you. You know you'd do better!
