This Stupid Defense Attorney Trick repeats itself every so often:
[indent]Me: What would you like to do on this case? (Meaning, pay it, deferred adjudication, set it for trial?)
Attorney: (trying to stifle a smile) I want it dismissed.
Me: (a bit frostily, knowing what's coming) Is there a particular reason you think it should be dismissed?
Attorney: (smugly looking as if he's the most clever person in the world, and no one else has ever been this hilarious) No, I just want it dismissed.
Me: (doing a slow burn as I look around the courtroom and see the dozens of attorneys, with multiple clients each, all waiting to see me.) What do you really want to do on the case? :mad: [/indent]

That's similar to one I run into. Whenever installing new computer equipment, someone will see me carrying it and say "Put that one on my desk (or in my house/car..)"

I've been doing this for nearly 18 years and have heard that comment, at least, once a week since I started and it just never gets old.
