Yeah I was trying to figure out why all threads eventually lead to chaos as well.....We all have wandering minds. I guess if a thread stayed on topic, my head would explode.

Wouldn't "The Exploding Heads" be a cool name for a band?

After visiting Europe, I realized how much of the "rude" behavior is actually cultural. We went to Loro Parque in Cadiz, Spain (think Sea World with more animals but without rides). We did a VIP tour, which was offered in multiple languages so we were in an English speaking group. The park draws visits from Spain, England, Germany, France, etc. Our tour included reserved seating at the shows, but our guide warned us that the other visitors will get VERY aggressive in trying to take it. Indeed, it was another type of "animal show" on its own to watch the seating process. Despite multiple huge RESERVED signs and guide standing guards, these people did contortions to force themselves into the reserved areas. Then, instead of simply backing down, they would get into heated arguments with the guides! It was funny to watch them pulled the "I don't speak ______" routine when a guide would tell them in one language, then watch the guide easily speak to whatever language they were using (God, I admire the multilinguisity that seems so common in Europe).
We also noticed that the European park visits literally had no respect for personal space and would run into you, push ahead of you, etc. if allowed. Fortunately, I am from Chicago so I easily held my own. Mr. Syndrome just got behind me and followed my lead. It truly was a different world in terms of manners over there.

Re: I Went, I Saw, I Was Appalled!
Had a deal like that at KSC last Tuesday. We're in line, and people are joining the line ahead of us. So we would cut right back in ahead of them, and they would be ready to fight us about it. Of course, it helped that by the end of the day I would be pressing 30+ hours without sleep, so I was ready to pick a fight with a little old lady if it came down to it.
Nice thing about being in buses, I don't see a lot of the line fighting, it's all done with before I pull up most of the time.

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

Nutz!! You discovered the plot. Now we have to come up with something else.Big Wallaby wrote:Aha! That's how we get so far off-topic here! One person makes a subtly different remark, which spawns its own subthread. Can you imagine the confusion we would have here if the board was set up so that one post could have multiple responses, so we had to follow each response and its responses? I think my head would explode.

DH told me when he was stationed near Bamburg, Germany in the Army, he had a little old german woman literally trample him to get on a bus. Pushing and shoving is just the way it is done in some places.Syndrome wrote: We also noticed that the European park visits literally had no respect for personal space and would run into you, push ahead of you, etc. if allowed. We were there 10/15-10/23 and had good experiences for the most part. One guy was trying to kill me with a rented stroller. I guess he thought repeatedly nailing me in the ankles would make me plow through the 1200 people exiting MK in front of me faster. I turned around and told him to stop hitting me! He was like...."oh sorry...this stroller....blah blah!" Ummm, yeah sir, I am pushing one too, but oddly enough, NOT ramming the people in front of me. Grrr. The lady next to me just laughed out loud when I turned around and yelled at him. I can usually control my temper, but that was a bit much.
We had a terrific time. As always, great CMs and some really nice fellow guests.

I think I have noticed this very phenomenon lately here... many branching responses in every direction! Gah! When I was in Japan, I crowded onto a train leaving Maihama station (the station for Tokyo Disney Resort, I spent 1.5 hours there, just sayin...) and had people push and shove me to get on the train as well. We left no man (or woman!) behind!
Oh, no one was rude about it, just something that has to be done...

I met that guy's clone about 50 times during my visit to the parks (coincidently the same week that you were there). Those big strollers need to have warning lights on them, they are dangerous. My ankles were bruised from trying to get to a shop that was simply surrounded. Many of the kids seemed to be over the age of five or six, with a few seeming even older.
My parents would have made me walk. "Damnit I paid money for this, now get up off ya arse and go DO something!" ;)
