a ? for CM bus drivers
not too sure if this is the right place to ask but, anyway, I wanted to ask the bus drivers on here if any of them know anything about Mears ... I'm thinking of applying for a driving job and wanted to get some feedback on them ( payscale, working conditions, etc ) ... any thoughts would be appreciative :)

I have been with this board for too long to not know that mears is a cuss word. Asking someone if they work for Mears is worse that insulting their mother, father, high school, church, state, country and kids combined.
Good luck on finding information.

Mears drivers make $8 an hour, but if your tips don't make up your pay they "gift" you a bonus to make it $10. I love charter driving, but I wouldn't go work for Mears on a bet. I won't admit this, but I've met a couple good people who work for Mears and they say that the at-office working conditions are awful. Once you get out on the road, you're paid by run and passengers, so many of their drivers run like bats out of hell.
There are some other neat companies to drive for here, I would go with them first. Actually, if you want to run charters, I suggest you move to Oregon and run with MTR Western. Great company, they buy all of your uniform but your underwear, great management and people.

That would explain the fights that taxi drivers get in when one tries to cut in line.Big Wallaby wrote:Once you get out on the road, you're paid by run and passengers, so many of their drivers run like bats out of hell.

Oh, now the taxi drivers are a whole 'nuther can of worms. And I don't mean the kind Darph wants to deal with.

I'm so glad they finally made it to the Super Bowl. I wish my grandfather could have been alive to see that. He was a big Seahawks fan, even back when they sucked (and he would be a fan still even though they seem to have gone back to sucking).hobie16 wrote:
