Wow, some of the stories of things guests do are just amazing. I prolly would have a hard time believing it if some passhole hadn't shoved me the last time I was working parades. What I hate is that management's first question is "what did you do to make him so mad?" Oh yes, let's not worry about if the cast member is hurt, we better make sure the guest isn't upset first.

God must love stupid people. He made so many of them.

Actually no I did not press charges. The guy did not hurt me I was more shocked at what he did. I was laughing though just because out of no were Disney security jumped him along with two off duty officers and threw him to the ground. The whole crowd stoped to watch me and the family and the guy instead of the parade. We went backstage and filled out the paper work, they arrested him and he was banned from all the parks for a year. Funny thing was he was not aloud to go to Universal and Sea World for the week. This was right after Sept 11, and I was in the college program. Actually what Disney did was give me 3 days off paid and 2 park hopper passes good for all Disney parks. But really that was not the first time a guest has touched me or verbaly abused me, and I was only there for 5 months and I was not a mean person. :D> guest were just bad they really thought that just because they were at a Disney park they could get away with anything. Actually non of the managment asked what I did cause they saw it. But on other incedents I have been.

Yes I did, but I was able to grieve it away. In fact that grievance is the reason that I decided to become a shop steward. Eventually the manager that "gave" me the reprimand got fired from the company so there was justice in the end for the grief that I had to put up with. Also shortly after that happened I left the Magic Kingdom for the Studios and I've never had to put up with managers that have done stuff like that again.

OK this guest didn't push or shove but actually said that he "owned the place" I was just minding my own business at the ride enterence and this guy came up and started asking random park questions(ride locations and such). He then shook my hand and said "By the way, I'm Bill Something(don't remember the last name) the new owner of Disneyland" He was completely serious. How do you respond to that?

Anybody ever work Space at the DLR? If so, you would know Smiley, or John which was his real name. He was an AP who would ride the ride all day long from open till close. He was usually pretty good about where he sat and never complained and would get off and just get right back in line and stand in the normal line like everybody else, except if he had a Fastpass. He was very quiet and kept to himself, kinda weird like if you ask me, and AT ALL COSTS avioded other guests. Didn't mind us CM's too much, but when it came to other guest, watch out. The main thing he would do is always ask to be seated by himself. He would NEVER sit next to anyone or let us put a single in next to him (thats why he never used the single rider line). It was fun watching the new CM's group him because they didn't know better and would try and put people next to him to fill the empty seats like good CM. If this happened, Smiley would either get out of line and have to be regrouped or what he did most of the time was get in and sit down really fast and pull BOTH lap bars down so the other guest had nowhere to sit. It was very amusing to watch. He even went to the extent one day to put the chain up thatconnects the rows and used it to block his row (it was a foreign guest behind him and they didn't know the difference). Since the lap bars would not lock at the load position unless we purposely locked then from the console, he would hold down the bar until the rocket moved foward. One day just for S&G(shits and giggles) smiley was not paying to close attention and the just before the rockets dispatched, we held it locked the lap bars so his was locked and the empty one just happened to be up and threw a simgle rider in next to him. He was pissed :x and tried to get out, but unfortunately we could not hear him, or was that we ignored him because we were all in on it . Any who thats Smiley in a nut shell, ohh yeah, he got his pass suspeneded a few times for stroking the horses  on Main Street if you know what I mean. Not just once either.

Then there was Gwen on Indy. She is the sweetast and kind hearted women I ever met while working there. She would come all the time and just ride Indy all day long and she actually kept count. When I left the company she had passed 5000 rides and that was in 02. She new most of us regular CM's by name and would talk with us about everything and visit with us. She didn't care about sitting alone, but did request row 3 most of the time and would wait for it, unless it was busy. When she hit her 5000 mark, there was a ceremony in the station and all the Suits came down and presented her with a plaque with her achievment on it. It was nice.

And we can't for get Bob either. He was just like Gwen in the sence that he would just ride Indy all day long. He only came about 2-3 times a year though, for a week or so at a time, because he lived in another state. He kept count to and it was kinda a competition between the two, but they were friends. I miss those two AP's. They were the fun AP's to work with!

If anyone remembers anything about them please tell, or if you still work there and know how they are please let me know. Thanks

Smiley also likes the Jungle Cruise... particurlarly the female skippers.

we'd work very hard to make sure he wasn't accomidated for that request though.

I worked on the DLRR and Smiley liked to ride the train, but not all day. No, he would wait until the very last train of the night, when we only picked up guests and no one could get off, and he would sit where ever a female cm had to stand. For those who don't work the railroad there are two standing positions on the outside of the train right in front of the bench seats for the guests. So anyway, he would sit there and just stare at the girls with his CREEPY little smile. I learned my lesson after the first time he did that and made sure to switch with any male cm who would take my place. No scary, creepy smilers for me thank you!
