You know, Cranbiz was trying to explain that to me, but I just wasn't getting it. Now, I see!

Thats why I have a windshield on my bike. It requires a REALLY big bug to crack it!

Yep. The very next bike (and every one since) has had a full fairing installed on it. Even when the bike wasn't supposed to work with one.

Of course I am the crazy one who rode his bike all winter. When others were unable to get to work because the snow was so deep they couldn't get their car out of the drive, I was sliding (sometimes sideways) my bike down the road. You know the snow is deep ontop of a layer of ice when the force required to push the front tire through the snow is more than the traction required to keep the rear tire from sliding sideways. The entire trip becomes a constant barely controlled sideways slide down the road. :D:

I miss my bike. But haven't had one for several years due to the high cost of motorcycle insurance. :(

Randy B wrote:Since the Pam is to prevent the bugs from sticking to the paint and to protect the paint from the corosive fluids it wouldn't hurt to coat the farring and possibly your helmet. But since it doesn't protect from the impacts you're out of luck with getting your clothes and exposed skin liberally covered.
Can we coat ourselves in Pam even if we're not riding a motorcycle or trying to avoid bugs? Just askin'. :D:

I think you should do that before going into the courtroom so as to confuse the jurors, and perhaps give the judge a laugh.

I'm reminded of the story of a prosecuting attorney who at a trial, back in the day when you could smoke in the courtroom, put a wire down his cigar, and lit up when the defense attorney started his work. Because people noticed this cigar and were wondering when the ash would fall of the end, no one was really paying attention to the defense attorney.

And no, I don't care to restart the smoking debate over here  ;)

The lovebugs have arrived in Pensacola! Before today I've seen maybe 3-4 lovebugs total over at least as many days. This morning while making runs to shops I saw that many the whole time. Later in the morning I went out to help a customer at her car and they were everywhere. She said they just came from Gainsville and that they were bad over there and joked that they followed her. I went out again later and there weren't nearly so many. It looks like the bugs did follow her with a lot less after she left than when she was there.

Saw some on my way home and some splatted on my car but I didn't go through any bad swarms of them.

Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.
