At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.
Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

You sure it wasn't the Pyro guys and everyone with a big or small drum hitting them all at the same time?

How to attack a nap? You close your eyes and you try to sleep. give your mom a scrambled mountainous sized heap of Rubik's cubes and tell her she has to get each and every one of those back to all one solid color per side before she can even talk to you.

You got a point there. The park was less crowded after the storm.Big Wallaby wrote:I know. Aren't the pyro guys great? I mean, we can clear the parks out like nothing else by creating a bit of weather...
Back at the end of either 2000 or 2001I flew down for New Years to spend time with my CM uncle and to go to the parks (soloing mostly). On New Years Eve my uncle had to work that night and I hung around Studios as that was where he worked at the time. The park was packed of course but that evening a storm came through and a lot of people left. The storm really cut down on the crowds and thankfully it passed before midnight. A little before midnight my uncle calls my cell and has me meet him in the Animator's Courtyard. He takes me through a cast gate and we take a golf cart up to the top of the Animator's parking garage. There was a wonderful view of the fireworks up there, missed some of the lower fireworks after a while because of the smoke but I saw a few no one in the park saw as they blew up in the tube and the mortars were within sight down a road. I could also look around and see the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Pleasure Island fireworks in the distance. I noticed that the parks' clocks weren't sycronized as the different parks fireworks started at slightly different times.
Thinking back I'm fairly certain it was 2001 when I went because there was increased security both at the airport and at the parks.

Maybe they had the bubble open in case they needed to launch the missiles from the castle???Shorty82 wrote:I think the WDW's Disney Weather Bubble must have been malfunctioning on my family's MK day when we were there last. You gotta watch out for those champagne bottles, they're dangerous. I've heard of gangs of them hanging around fine wine and liquor stores and making people do far worse things than take a swim. :p:darph nader wrote:I do have one puzzeling guestion. And watch out for rum mixed with other stuff in a carved-out pineapple. Thank goodness I had Vixen and KidAtHeart to make sure I didn't embarrass myself at Ohana without the incriminating evidence to make it worthwhile!
