SGT at Soarin'

Post by Syndrome » Sat Sep 08, 2007 2:28 pm

I have been at a Soarin' deficit, as I don't get to ride it during peak season, so yesterday and today I took advantage of the lessened crowds. Managed to get two rides yesterday and four this morning, plus witnessed my first SGT. Some moron was taking FLASH PHOTOS!!! Yes, taking flash photos of an IMAX movie!!! The CM made an announcement for them to stop, and thankfully they obeyed, but it really ruined the ambiance of the ride. Idiots.

The perfect solution would be to shut down/stop the ride, throw the SG off and let everyone ride again. Of course if I had been sitting next to Mr/Ms a**hole,I would have either
A. put my hand over the camera,OR
B. unbuckled the seat belt and pushed them out of their seat.

A. I can see but B. means you'd have to put down your beer mug.

Or tries to take a flash photo from the top row of a stadium.

Hint to the non photogs out there, a standard flash will have an effective range of 10-12 ft. Even a high quality (read: multi hundred to multi thousand dollars) pro flash may only extend the range to 50'. So a flash photo from the top of the stadium will only give you a good photo of the backs of heads in the next 3-5 rows, and nothing else. ;)

I like to watch the tourists in the Louvre taking pictures of the Mona Lisa. It's encased in one inch thick bulletproof glass that's also designed to reflect bright lights so the painting doesn't fade. All they get is a box with a grey shiny field.
