The San Jacinto/Hemet area of California was well-known for its apricot groves in the good old days....our neighbor had a tall tree that hung over our wall, and it always produced a bunch every summer. Our dog who was on a rather bland diet due to chronic pancreatitis would wait under that tree every day for hours. When an apricot would fall, it was quickly dispatched, seed remaining behind.
Cha-Cha was a pretty smart dog, she would carry her dish around when she was hungry and chase us kids to bed every night.
I love the tiny life jacket!
Drone for whales would have been good for us today. Unlike our previous experience, the whale we followed going back up North didn't seem to want us around and was extremely difficult to track. The Dolphins seemed to like us, tho keeping us with us on the return trip to the Harbor at Port Hueneme.
Only Problem with these trips is sleeping off the Dramamine

The dolphins are nut balls. Especially the spinners. I've watched them herding bait fish. When a tour catamaran went by they lost their minds and start surfing the bow wave.
We saw one pod of whales today that were fighting with each other to win the affections of a female. We also saw a leaping baby that was having a great time. I wasn't able to shoot any pictures as I was at the helm. I gotta get Mrs. Hobie trained up fast.
Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

Over the years I've posted a lot of whale watching pictures. Everyone believes whale watching is a great adventure. Last night on Letterman the cover was blown off. Here's the truth about whale watching.

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?
It was a funny clip...much of what he said sounded familiar so I am wondering if he took the same cruise to the Channel Islands.
I guess it is hit or miss, the trips prior to ours included pods of Orcas checking out the tourists on the boat
Anyway, you can look up Channel Islands Whale Watching's Facebook page to see what they are seeing. If you join their Pod Club, it is supposed to be 1/2 price to go. I joined but called them as I couldn't sign up for the trip online and they honored the discount.
