His band Ten Years After, whose fiery "I'm Going Home" appears in the Woodstock movie and on the album, also scored with the 1971 melodic rock classic "I'd Love to Change the World."

Alvin Lee, the British singer-guitarist whose fiery performance at Woodstock was immortalized in the subsequent film and soundtrack album, has died. He was 68. full article

I saw Ten Years After at the Carousel Ballroom in San Francisco. The Carousel was the forerunner for Winterland. Alvin Lee was a great guitar slinger. His right hand was almost invisible when he was deep into a guitar solo.

I saw him years later when he opened for Kansas at the Cow Palace. He'd put on some weight but still had his chops.
