At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.
Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

Some Stupid Fun
I was just reading on a message board somewhere that someone asked how to get into disneyland for free. so this moron is telling people to go buy those walk around disney charactor costumes you see on the internet. the ones people use to stand on street corners for photo money. and I am thinking, there is 2 or 3 real big problems with that. 1. charactors dont go thru the main gates. 2. most CMs can tell a official costume from a mexican knockoff. 3. what do you do when you are asked where is your handler and what is your id number.

Dumb question gets a dumb answer.

Is the cost of a cheap knockoff character costume + shipping less than the cost of a day ticket to Disneyland?

Re: Some Stupid Fun
Good lord, I searched the web for "how to get into Disneyland for free" to try to find the forum DrCorey was referring to and it's worse than I thought
Here I'm seeing professionally-written articles condoning asking CM's who are complete strangers to let them use their guest passes. Worse yet, the author claims that if you go to Disneyland using a guest pass, you don't have to wait in line and get to walk around backstage. Another article says that if you tell the CM's at the ticket booth you want to buy souvenirs, they'll let you in the park with a one-hour time limit no questions asked, free to do whatever you like. Honestly I don't remember the last time I laughed this hard.

well, the one hour shopper pass is sort of true.KieranDotW wrote:Good lord, I searched the web for "how to get into Disneyland for free" to try to find the forum DrCorey was referring to and it's worse than I thoughtHere I'm seeing professionally-written articles condoning asking CM's who are complete strangers to let them use their guest passes. at least it was at Disneyland. but you had to post a cash deposit equal to 1 days admission. and you had to be back at guest services within 1 hour. or you lost your deposit. I did hear thou, you used to have to bring them a reciept back too. or you were not allowed to do it again. it's a tight loophole if true.
eat, play and shop, and do it all in 60 mins. or you pay for the whole day.

One hour to shop only. Was 2 hours a few years ago. Non CMs would be shocked to hear how CMs are asked, taken advantage of, badgered, lied to and the list goes on as far as trying to get sign ins, or passes. I absolutely will not sign in anyone I do not know. If I don't actually know want to be sign ins, they must have an excellent reputation as well as have added to my life and the live's of others I know, and be "almost perfect in every way."hobie16 wrote:I believe the one hour deal is true.
