Happy Thanksgiving!

A place to be entertained. Videos, jokes, games, and more.

At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.

Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

Just because others seem to have lost contact with their inner child doesn't mean I am going to be forcibly marched into outer adulthood. Yes, things are big and, in some views "tacky", but when one considers the location, the idea that things are purposely made to be "bigger than life", it stops being tacky and becomes entertainment and yet another notch up the ladder of fantasy.

I could only find myself agreeing on two things in that linked post. That was the Orange thing in DCA because I couldn't grasp, and still can't, the possibility of bees inside an orange peel. Has anyone ever seen that in real life? Did you ever hear anyone say...Hey, lets go out and watch bees fly around inside an orange peel? I didn't think so!

And the hat, oh, that forlorn hat! I have nothing against the hat itself, my complaint is the location of it. There was plenty of room in the animation courtyard. It still would have been big enough to be seen from other areas in the park and wouldn't have ruined the vista of the entrance to DHS. Even if it was something other then a place to sell pins, I might have felt a little better, but alas it wasn't. It just sold pins. It probably makes a good icon for the park and would have been OK if it had been like the others where the park was built around the Icon. In this case, it was a 100th anniversary of Walt Disney's birth creation and very much an after thought.

We had a great time at the World. Thanksgiving Dinner for me was a steak, no turkey for the 2nd year in a row! The Master of the castle came out and said hi to the guests, then we met him in another room for pictures. Sadly, we were not offered any gray stuff :( I hear it is delicious...

My only complaint about your trip, ktulu, is that we got within a few hundred feet of each other and STILL missed. Well, once I get settled, I think a Texas trip is overdue to say hello to you and Wombat. Then on to Disneyland.

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?
