Hobie, that would have been really cool had there been 6 fewer posts in this thread, so that Bram Stoker's 165th birthday would be the 165th post in this thread. So close.

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

Timing is everything plus I found some interesting ones earlier. :(

Nearly six million online votes helped us pick the winners of this year's Doodle 4 Google competition from a very creative pool of doodles. Today, we're pleased to announce the results.

Congratulations to Christin Engelberth, a sixth grader at Bernard Harris Middle School in San Antonio, Texas. She titled her doodle "A New Beginning" to express her wish that "out of the current crisis, discoveries will be found to help the Earth prosper once more."

YES! Thank you hobie and I liked the thrown in bonus Googles. Might rename you Prince Charming hobie. :) After thought, naw, that's too over the top. Will stick with Prince. :D:

Does that mean I have to play a guitar in the shape of the Hobie "H"?

No, please no. That prince is not what I refer to as a prince. Oh, never mind, literal soul. Cool art work!

The stylized Hobie "H" was just one of Hobie Alter's many innovations. He came up with foam cored hulls and a number of leading edge ideas that were revolutionary to the boat building business. Most of them came out of his garage in Dana Point.

He also came up with regatta rule changes that simplified racing and made it much more fun for entry level sailors.

And, he's a very nice guy.
