I read that article and for a person that has made as many movies and as much money, and fame as lucas, he sounds like a bit of a wuss when it comes to getting (unwanted) comments.

jeez, George, just tell them to go suck an egg.

Y'all are thinking too small. Star Wars, Marvel, and a long shot of maybe Middle Earth. Fifth gate...

Star Wars Weekends ought to be interesting inthe future. Disney really has gone on a buying spree! It will be interesting to see everything they do with it.

I also wonder if there will be any significant cross-pollenation between Imagineering and ILM -- that has the potential for being pretty spectacular. :D:

That's pretty exciting too. It will be interesting to see where this goes. Hopefully this will bring back the original actors (although Harrison Ford might be too expensive these days) rather than recasting or setting this so far in the future that the Skywalkers and Solos are pushing up daisies. The Zahn series and the Fate of the Jedi series would both be much better than the prequels, but I have no idea if they would consider adaptations of those books as opposed to an entirely new script. Heck, do a new script and get Zahn to do the story treatment.

How about a Rogue Squadron animated series? Disney XD needs more material. :)

One of the articles I read said that the new trilogy would be several decades in the future and would deal with Luke and the others. At least initially, they are starting with treatments done by George Lucas. He passed those over Kathleen Kennedy as part of passing the reigns.

You do wonder, though, if they'd be able to get them all.

My bet is only Luke gets carried over to Episode 7. He'll be used to bring the timeline up to date and then pass the light sabre on to a new group of heroes.

Here's a lighthearted take over at TelevisionWithoutPity.com about the pros and cons of the merger.

And coming soon: Cracked is running a photoshop contest titled What George Lucas is Going to Do Next.
