Not to mention a liver that hates you.

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

What I don't get is the occasional news report about people whose BAC goes over 1.00, like the guy in Poland in 1995, who was found with a 1.43. I assume everyone here knows what Blood Alcohol Content is. For anyone who does not, it's a measure of the percentage of your blood that is now alcohol, just as .01 would equal 1% in mathematics. It takes practice to get to the level where you get above .50, meaning you now have blood in your alcohol system.

Yikes.
HA! first time I ran a GCI,(many years ago) the guy blew a .42, the lt. couldn't believe it so I ran it again and a .43 came out.

the funny part was that I had been in the certification class that morning and the instructor told us that anyone above a .25 could be in very serious medical trouble. off to the good ol E.R., checked him out. drunk but no problem, E.R. doc said good to go. jail refused him because of level so we turned him over to the detox clinic run by the red cross.

little guy, about 5'6' or so, about 75 years old. turns out he was a lumberjack in Canada all his life, and probably drank a pint or more every day of his life. Came down to California when he retired "to get warm"

I worked with a guy who downed a quart of beer every day at lunch. Never affected him.
