Another Disney Rip Off

A place to be entertained. Videos, jokes, games, and more.

At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.

Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

Well, you know what they say... The seaweed is always greener in someone else's lake.

In this case, Sebastian was talking about Marlin.

Things like this makes me ashamed to be part Chinese. :( Even worse that I'm an artist, too!

It's the government, not the people. Every heritage I can think of (and I'm a mongrel, so I've looked into a lot), there were periods of stupid government, even if said government was just tribal. For example, the Iroquois, while generally admirable, practically exterminated the neutral Attawandaron for many of the same reasons the U.S. later sent various tribes off on Death Trails.

Governmental-type power makes people stupid, is what happens. Copy right is a fairly modern and somewhat odd concept; not surprising most Chinese people don't get it when the government doesn't recognize or enforce it.

So feel free to be proud of your people -- but go ahead and be ashamed of the government, is my advice.

Well, they say power corrupts, but it isn't a given that every person who gets power (governmental or otherwise) falls victim to corruption. Now, in the case of China, it does appear their government has a long standing tradition of ignoring international copyrights, as long as doing so is in their favor.

I've always enjoyed the quote attributed to former Secretary of the Navy John Lehman:
Power corrupts. Absolute power is kind of neat. :D:
Not a given but the odds favor it, IMHO. People who like to have power over other people generally end up corrupted, and a lot of people seeking government power are seeking power over others. People who believe that having a high-ranking government position is more of a responsibility than a road to power tend to handle it better.

To come at it from another angle, one of the earlier versions of "power corrupts" was ""Unlimited power is apt to corrupt the minds of those who possess it" --when someone is constrained by a higher law or principle, then any power they have is not unlimited. It's the absolute monarchs who would declare themselves gods, not the guys who accepted an outside law code or tradition.

Funny that as soon as they rip finding nemo, the animation becomes 10000x less shitty. Wonder why

And probably the least of the copyright concerns, but anyone else notice at the beginning how blatantly the castle resemble's Prince Eric's?
