You know if you asked me a year ago if I thought we could be this big so quickly. I would have laughed in your face. I never thought a website about stupid people in theme parks would be so popular. We started out as a small Yahoo group just trying to spread the word around and now we have over 300 members in just one year! When Polar and I thought the idea up we would have been happy with just 100 members we never thought this could happen. So what do you do when you have such a successful year? You look back and remember.
This website wasn't the first incarnation of StupidGuestTricks. As I said earlier there was a Yahoo group. Back in March of 2002 Polar and I were telling stories to each other and telling stories others had told us. It became habit that we bitched about our day to each other. We had the idea to set up a forum so that others may share their stories with us, so we set up the Yahoo group and started passing out cards to get people to come, and come they did (no sexual innuendo intended.) Fast forward to July when I found out from a friend in security that Loss Prevention had gotten ahold of a card and had to check things out (make sure we weren't selling anything.) Well we checked out OK but I'm sure they knew about us now and it probably started going up the ladder. So now comes January 2003, I am 4 hours into my 12 hour shift and I was pulled into the office. I was told I was being separated from the company. Now this may sound a little paranoid, I am sure they fired me for the Yahoo group since they knew I was the ringleader, so to speak. My attendance (their reason for firing me,) was not as bad as most people I worked with. They thought they could get rid of us. They were wrong. At the time we already had the web space and site name registered, I just had more time to work on it since I was not gone from the house 12-14 hours a day. So StupidGuestTricks.com is born.
Since then we have gone from a dinky little bulletin board to on a full on internet community. We have shared stories of stupidity. We've talked about all subjects from the accident on Thunder to just idle chit chat about XM Radio. We've connected former and current CMs across the country and the world. We've reconnected old friends. We've even allowed Guests to understand the how hard this job can be so that they may understand us a little. It's not just about the stupidity anymore. It's about life. It's become your home away from home at home.
So now I come to the end. I would like to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for coming here and enjoying yourselves. This place is for you.

Happy Anniversary
"A little swordplay, now and then, keeps my mind off sheep!"
"You're messing with my Zen thing, man."
"Dreams are as portals,
flat visions of misty places,
fragments bound below my surface,
but I can write dreams,
they flow from me,
inscribed but now unbound,
I touch them,
and they are real,
and they are real."
