How long ?
How long ?
Hi I have applied to be a cast member with DVC on April 18th , I was wondering how long does the process normally take ? I got a referral from another cast member and was wondering if that also helps. It is my dream to work at Disney World and really hoping I get the approval any tips would be appreciated . :)

Re: How long ?
I will only tell you what I was told. If you do not have a local address there is a very slim chance that they will call you unless they cannot find anyone else with equivalent skills. Even if you have made a point of saying that you are ready, willing and able to make the move.
I'm pretty sure that over the years they have interviewed, researched and offered positions to many people who when confronted with the actuality of having to uproot and move to Florida or California, did a quick take and backed out. That's a lot of wasted effort on everyone's part.

Never give up on your dream. Not sure how ethical or legal it may be but what about giving a friend with a local address as your address. You can still use your canadian phone number but If you appear more local that may help your case.
I know when I was looking at moving from the Pacific Northwest that most companies in florida ignored me because I was not local. I put a local address down and the offers came in.

Ditto. Actually, an exact ditto. And that was with my physically closest friends being in Melbourne. Once I had a job offer from the company that I then wanted to work for I actually went ahead and got an Orlando address.NemoRanger wrote:I know when I was looking at moving from the Pacific Northwest that most companies in florida ignored me because I was not local. So NemoRanger, I have to ask... What part of the NW?
My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

Re: How long ?
May just be a FL address. Mine is 3 hours from the mouse, what lead to the intial interview was changing my availability to full and moving my start date to the day applied (I had originally put it for May - had I left it, they wouldn't have called until May if at all).
Parties of 33 should consider dividing their parties into two groups of 16 and a half each.

People think I am completely bonkers for not wanting to live in Seattle anymore. Everyone I meet always talks how beautiful a city it is and how much they LOVE rain and mountains. Blah Blah Blah
Yes Seattle is one of the most beautiful cities. I miss the mountain. The Views all around the city are amazing. I miss some of the homes I lived in. I miss the Pike Place Market. I had an apartment that I would walk to market and get my groceries and bouquets of flowers. It was nice.
I just really LOVE Florida. I perfer to be hot and sticky then cold and wet all the time. The people are friendlier and better looking in Florida. I LOVE seeing the sun on a daily basis and knowing that I will see it everyday. When I go to Seattle to visit I can honestly say that after a couple days I can not wait to get the heck back to Florida. I only wish I moved her sooner.

I was born in Everett and lived there until I was nine. My dad got a transfer to San Francisco.NemoRanger wrote:I am from Seattle Washington.
Do you know the legend of Mt. Rainier?
If you can see the mountain, it's going to rain.
If you can't see the mountain, it is.

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

I miss Mt.Rainier. I had an amazing view of it from my last house in Seattle.
If it ever decides to blow in my lifetime. I pray it doesn't pull a St.Helens. It would be like the loss of an old friend.

My dad had a job where he'd hit Seattle for a week every few months, and I always knew it was a Seattle trip because he sulked about it ahead of time.NemoRanger wrote: People think I am completely bonkers for not wanting to live in Seattle anymore. Except for my mom, everyone I knew in Colorado (lived there 15 years) thought it was wunnerful wunnerful, too. Me, I think Colorado's a nice place to visit. Period. :p: It's great the people living there like Seattle, but that says absolutely nothing about where you will be happy.
