No. Oh, hell no. I no longer visit board X, Y, Z, etc. I find that 1) the knowledge here is better if I have a question and 2) the people on those boards are, well, it's high school all over again, but worse. I'll go with the Eckersley's rule when it comes to those boards :)
That's why I love Board X-Y-Z. It's comedy of the highest form for me, watching people being stupid on the internet. I mainly only post over there for the few misguided tourists who stumble upon them so they don't get completely horrid advise.

Then again, most of the idiot kids tend to not post advise because their to busy whining

Someone needs to go over there and just set up a video camera at a FP return time lane. The reactions are probably priceless. I'd also bet the people who complain the loudest are locals who are used to abusing the system.

I really don't "get it".
We always have two meals per day planned and booked and it never ever was a problem to use our fast passes.
I guess the "old school"way Disney uses in Paris pays off. NO leeway what so ever. To late ? No mercy what so ever.
I have to admit we get the VIP passes in Paris and I hope WDW also starts to sell them. We love them.

I'm a local and hardly ever use the fastpasses. I usually just go to the parks to do certain rides or activities so it really doesn't matter to me if I have to wait a bit in line. I also have an app for my smartphone, to tell me what the line wait times are in the parks, so I can plan accordingly.

That's how I am Avengador, I grew up local so anymore when I go to the parks I just can't re-train my mind out of what I now call "local" mode. It generally hits the moment I cross the state line and comes with a +35 annoyance level for stupid tourists ;)
Honestly, it's nice and leads us to never have a stressful vacation. We've done everything hundreds of times while we lived there. So if we skip something over it's not the end of the world, we'll either do it later or just the next time we're in town.

We rarely use the FP system. Generally we won't get near theme parks during busy times, probably why we travel the end of September or January when given the choice. I think honestly, the last FP we used was given to us by a couple that was leaving the park early and it was for Toy Story Maina. Otherwise, I'll pick them up as souvenirs. I think I've got nearly all of them at this point.

Just got back from the World and didn't see any angst over the enforcement of end times. The CMs at FP distribution spots were doing a great job of letting people know that they needed to return in the window. We didn't see any haggling at the FP return lines.

We were in the same boat as you, ktulu. We knew, we used it, but the change doesn't bother us. We did get into one situation at KS in AK where we couldn't use our FPs. The FP return line was wrapped quite a ways up the exit and we had Lunch reservations at Yak and Yeti. We probably could've made it, but we didn't want to risk it. We just walked over to FP distribution and looked for an obvious couple in line, then offered them our FPs. We got a good feeling from that and enjoyed our lunch. :)

I have done this several times myself. I love it when I am given suprise FP to give away to guest.

I love how such a little thing like a FP can make someone so HAPPY

I confess a weakness for that. :o: I also enjoy reading people who're enthusiastic about something -- I've read long essays on stuff I have no interest in and know I never would enjoy, just because the person writing is so enthusiastic and specific about what they love -- and I particularly love reading people who love what I love go on about it. So Board X has plenty to offer. :D:

Plus I like to reassure newbies who're worried because they can't afford onsite that, yes, it is possible to enjoy your WDW vacation without being onsite. I do draw a line between "appreciating" and "so obsessed that they can't believe anything else is possibly worthwhile!"

On one thread I've seen asking that just people who were there after enforcement kicked in post, I thought about half the people have seen a couple of altercations each (arguments with the CM, mostly), while the other half haven't seen anything. I'm guessing there will be at least a few people surprised by it for quite some time to come; all the 2012 guidebooks I've read say it's possible, and half of Unofficial Guides at our library are still from 2011, which of course recommend using Fastpasses past the hour printed as well. The odds of picking up a 2011 one are higher for the casual browser; the 2012 ones are usually snagged by the guys who specifically put them on hold.

Travel guides don't change much year to year, but I would guess a higher percentage of people going for the Unofficial Guide are specifically after the schedules, which is exactly where that change is going to bite them.

It was actually fairly busy and we didn't even hear a discussion of it at the FP returns, let alone complaints. We did hear some questions at distribution. We only got a few FPs, but every place we did had signs on every FP machine, and there was a CM periodically reminding people that they had to return during the window. One would hope that the signs and CMs would override any guide books. (I know, expecting people to read signs is a pretty radical concept, but since we're talking about the guide book situation, these are people who have already proven that they are willing to read about Disney :D :)

Speaking as a guidebook reader, I read the thing in the first place because I find the parks overwhelming, and do not adapt well to new information once there. :p:
