Closing the Park. What guests do.
Re: Closing the Park. What guests do.
Welcome ETicket15 and Arbite!
*clears out to a safe distance*
I've gotten double rides as the last ride of the day many times since I've always been more of a night owl, we enjoy nighttime parks much more then during the daylight counter parts. From coasters to flat rides but I've never gotten one while at a Disney park, I wasn't sure they actually would do them to be honest with you.
When I worked at RnRC at DHS they had very strict rules about "double rides at the end of the night" to the point they threatened disciplinary action. I never asked why but I figured it was either because when I was their the ride was very new at the time.

All at the MK. Three times in a row on Big Thunder (during EMH) and then twice on Big Thunder, we were in the back and the people knew the CM working the back of the train. They were from the same town, so he reserved the last car for all of us. I was with my oldest daughter. She was so happy, Big Thunder is her favorite ride!

For whatever reason, I don't ride as much at the end of the day. I'm an early bird by nature, but I love the parks at night -- it's just that I love the atmosphere. Most of the rides at the same whether they're day time or night time (there are some that are *very* different, I know), but to me the parks are at their most magical after dark. I just enjoy walking around, snacking here and there, grabbing a drink, watching people. With all that, when I close down a park it's usually just about wandering out and enjoying the sights, sounds, smells, and, yes, even occasionally the SGs. They can sometimes be entertaining.

Hi, Arbite and Eticket15!

Not saying anything bad will happen, but you both might want to make sure you know the location of your nearest emergency trauma center before receiving your dragon safety spiel. Good luck!

Ah yes, I remember well one "late ride" I took.
I was hoofing it out of the Magic Kingdom one evening after a day of research, hoping to beat the fireworks crowd. As I walked through Fantasyland, I heard a young woman's voice call out to me ever so sweetly...
"How'd you like to go to Hell?" which quite stopped me in my tracks.
Yes, it was the lonely operator of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, bidding me to travel to Nowhere in Particular. How could I decline?
Yeah, traffic was a bitch that night, but she wasn't.

Re: Closing the Park. What guests do.
It seems to me that a lot of the last guests don't even realize what's going on. They're genuinely enjoying themselves and don't notice the duty managers following them, or the shop doors closing behind them, or the transportation CMs staring at them as they meander down Main Street.
Which is good, though when you're sitting at the dock waiting to figure out if they're going to need you to take them to their resort and nobody's going up to ask them it sucks...
