Re: Has This Ever Happened On Safari?
I also understand that before they got many animals in, they had to talk about plants there, presenting fake plants as real (sometimes with bad show happening at the most inconvenient moments). Why does the Jungle Cruise come to mind?
Also, how did they get those termites to work to make those hills so quickly? And are the termites why the trucks have to keep moving? :D:
Yes, I know, it's because the giraffes will come take refuge from the sun under the truck.

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

Re: Has This Ever Happened On Safari?
What has happened to the poacher truck scene? I rode KS twice on my last trip and the first time there were no sound effects nor did the poacher truck go by. The second time there were sound effects but again the truck didn't go by.
Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.

Oh don't even act like I having actually been asked the question before...also get people thinking the wire on the trees is to keep the termites out.Big Wallaby wrote: Also, how did they get those termites to work to make those hills so quickly? Not sure when exactly the poachers truck stopped working but its been a long time. The sound effects are hit and miss if you are going to hear them. Its a differnt system than the one you hear Wilson from...honestly not sure exactly how the poachers scene sound effects work. Its the timing on the sounds that not right, hear then in front and behind a lot. They 'updated' the poachers scene a bit when they changed the spiel. By updated I mean they removed the plane and switched the locations of the poachers truck and the wardens truck so you could see the AA elephant better. Doors to the truck are supposed to be open now as well but no one can figure out how to make the doors stay open with the truck on a hill....seriously thats to complicated.Shorty82 wrote:What has happened to the poacher truck scene? Hope that didn't count as releasing proprietary information lol

With the sound effects not working right and the truck not at all they should just turn that entire scene off. It just doesn't feel right the way it is now and doesn't provide the quality of show Disney is famous for. It would be better not to have the scene work at all and thus noticeable only to those that look than have it only half work and be confusing.Floridian wrote:Not sure when exactly the poachers truck stopped working but its been a long time. Heck, I'd be happy if they got rid of the entire poachers thing. The safari is fun enough IMO without the lame poacher show. Keep the bridge but get rid of the poachers.
Thinking back to my trip in 2001 I do remember the plane and a CM standing by the truck announcing that we saved Little Red. The way it was then wasn't bad, it definately was a lot better than it is now. Why did they change it? If they must have a show aspect to the ride than have the old one, the current one is just lame.
It can't be that hard to figure out how to time the poachers truck and its sound effects nor how to keep a door open! A small air or hydraulic ram could do the door, for crying out loud! As for the truck, a simple sensor system similar to what they use to monitor the parade floats in the MK (and I assume the other parks) would work to trigger the scene I would think.
This is Walt Disney World for crying out loud! That kind of thing might cut it at any other park but not at one of the parks that define the term "theme park".
:) Doubt it as you really hadn't told me anything that I couldn't already figure out.Floridian wrote:Hope that didn't count as releasing proprietary information lol

How about taking the doors off completely?

It's not hard, but will cost money. Can't be spending money.
It seems to me, everytime Disney reworks an attraction they make it worse.
Examples...........Figment (X2), Stitch, Universe of Energy, now KSR

Yep, its always about the money. They are spending a ton on the attraction right now. Since we can't really close down like many other attractions the updates are being done in stages and are not complete yet. Also I don't think its up to the managers actually working at the attraction where it gets spent.Cranbiz wrote:It's not hard, but will cost money. Can't be spending money.
Maybe ya'll won't agree but I really don't like the new El Rio del Tempo...or Grand Fiesta now I think.Cranbiz wrote: It seems to me, everytime Disney reworks an attraction they make it worse.

The old one was horrible, just a ride with some photos/bad video along the way. I'll hold off on commenting about the new on until I ride it :)Floridian wrote: Maybe ya'll won't agree but I really don't like the new El Rio del Tempo...or Grand Fiesta now I think.

By the amount of people waiting in the queue lines, I'd say that most people aren't overly impressed. And neither was I. However, at least I tell people that it's the Three Cabrellos (sp?) and not the Three Amigos.Floridian wrote:Maybe ya'll won't agree but I really don't like the new El Rio del Tempo...or Grand Fiesta now I think.

I took my mom on it and she was all upset Chevy Chase was no where to be seen on the ride. lolleftcoaster wrote:However, at least I tell people that it's the Three Cabrellos (sp?) and not the Three Amigos.
