Thanks go to Hubby for Photos, he made them up just for that purpose and I just addressed cards and whipped up a few ornaments-recovering from Bad Bronchitis :( Had a relapse after having such a nice day at DLR but now almost all better :)Main Streeter wrote:Ornament is such a special treat! He is on the tree. :) Ann could not believe you gave her her own set of prints. That was just nothing but thoughtful & cool.I think she is becoming a DLR junkie. There go my sign ins.
Thank you so much DM & Mr. DM. :)

At least it's not the first where you get to patch up all the resultant damage.DisneyMom wrote:....gotta work 31st grumble..........
Years ago I worked for PacBell. I was sans significant other so I volunteered to work the first so others could get their drink on. Normally, I'd check in, find a coffee shop to park in, and check in every hour to see if there was anything to do. No such luck this time.
Someone in our local cheap rent area decided to celebrate the new year by firing off a few rounds for effect. He managed to hit an overhead cable that took out a few hundred lines.
As I remember I got home about 10 PM that night.

Yep, we close at 2030 so hopefully most will only be getting started thenhobie16 wrote:At least it's not the first where you get to patch up all the resultant damage.

Problem will be persons suffering from Friday Night Festivities

So they sent you to repair a cable that had been shot out only recently

Did police have to clear out area first?

It was years ago when I was misspending my youth. I've now got a knee that would prevent me from climbing poles.DisneyMom wrote:So they sent you to repair a cable that had been shot out only recently

All the phone guys were pretty good friends with the sheriff's deputies so they kept an eye on things.

Could be worse yet. I get to work both the 31st and the 1st. :( At least it's an open and a close instead of a close and an open.hobie16 wrote:At least it's not the first where you get to patch up all the resultant damage.

My New Year's prefs were submitted months ago. Asked to work long mid Dec. 31 as well as Jan. 1. Sched offered me off 3 times. They just roll their eyes & realize they have to give me what I ask for. Will be fun!

Started the new year off by going into work at midnight. I start vacation on the 4th into the 5th so they gave the other guy last night and the next 2 nights off. The bitch of it is that I am resetting seasonal which is really tough to do when you are the only manager on duty.
