The Braves have a problem with the name of Pixar’s latest film

Post by avengador1 » Wed Dec 21, 2011 7:51 pm

This has got to be one of the stupidest things I have seen in a while.

In a story that's sure to delight both fans of baseball and frivolous legal proceedings, the Braves have been challenging the mouse over the title of "Brave," the new Pixar film due next summer.

Somewhere in Atlanta there's a pasty white Harvard Law grad drooling all over himself while dreaming, win or lose, about all the billable hours this will generate.

This is just mindblowing. What a collossal waste of time and energy! A team that took its name from Native American warriors is going to war with a movie that took its name from an adjective, what, because people will confuse the two and harm the team's business????

I don't get it.

And after rereading it, I realize there is nothing to get.

Okay, I lied. So I figured out there was nothing to get after reading the first paragraph.

What a crock.

That sums it up nicely.

That's what makes this hilariously ironic. :D:

Just waiting for Disney to, at the last possible minute, point out the "you can't sue us or else you'll have to find a new location for spring training" clause in the contract.

And then we will all laugh at the Braves.

The team is named "Atlanta Braves".

How on earth does that have any similarity to "Brave". And if they are so upset, why didn't they sue over "The Brave Little Toaster", or "Home of the Brave", or "Brave New World".

Oh well. Guess when your a suck *** team, you have to do SOMETHING to get your name in the papers.

When this gets tossed out of court, I hope Mickey "chops" at them. LOL

Unless, of course, this is all part of a pact between the Atlanta Braves and Disney/Pixar to create publicity for both parties. An initial filing, a few motions -- all guaranteed to get some news coverage. Then they'll come to an amicable agreement. All part of a grand consipiracy!

No, I'm not paranoid. Why do you ask, and who told you to ask that anyways? :notallthe
