Official SGT ADD thread

A place to be entertained. Videos, jokes, games, and more.
Forum rules
At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.

Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

The reporter is hilarious. The building in the background... is not.

Maybe he was referring to one of the other buildings.

Dear Work,
What part of "Calling off sick today, going to Doctors" is confusing and in what world would you possibly think that meant "Only calling off one shift but I'll go to the others"? Then why would you add "Oh your gonna get a note right"? No. I'm going to call off, go to the doctor and not cover my own ass.
**Facedesk**

Stupidity. It's everyplace.

Hope you will feel better, Darksin! :)
You bring up a good issue- WHY does everyone need to have a note from a DOCTOR if they call in ill for one day? Our Urgent Care is filled with people who have run-of-the-mill illnesses, who won't even need any meds prescribed, just a little rest and time....I guess it is to discourage fakers, but doesn't anyone just stay home in bed and let themselves heal?grumblegrumble

And being in a room full of sick people, it just makes everyone sicker, AND more likely to need more time off work!

Thanks everyone!
Maybe it the weather wasn't so weird this year. Is anyone else getting this crap? It's "nice" for a few days (40-50's here) then tanks into the 20's for a week with snow, then climbs back up to 40-50's. Augh, no one everyone is sick!

The thing that makes this laughable is that I work in health care, with the elderly. You would think they would be more paranoid about having anyone sick or ill around but they are honestly more pushy about attendance.
Half the time the client will send you home because they don't want you around while work pushes you into going with threats. It's ridiculous.

At least my hubby bought my Krispy Kreme donuts as as surprise today! :D:

Your asking people on a site that is mainly comprised of people from SoCal and sunny Florida. It's been High 70s all week here. :hula: :hula: :hula:

There's more than a couple (maybe a few?) of us on the site freezing our backsides off up north, where even if it's not snowy, it gets darn cold! We know of what Darksin speaks! My wife works in a hospital, and at least in that setting, they really don't want staff coming to work with colds. With the number of immunosuppressed kids being wheeled around there, one selfish adult with a cold could cause massive problems!

Trust me, I know the Florida temps at this time of year! I spent 20 years slow cooking in them, then for some twisted reason moved up north. Not our best idea! My friends still down there get a good laugh out of my complaining about anything below 65 degrees which is my personal threshold of "COLD".

My friend Jen the other day told me "Just give it up girl, your a Floridian even if you weren't born here.. just admit to it. You blood is never gonna thicken up if it hasn't after 5 years!".

She's right I suspect. Probably why we've decided as soon as possible, we're relocating back to FL again ;)

I never understood why Healthcare, of all jobs, pushes people to go to work sick. It's kind of the opposite of the job.
