I saw that as I logged off Hotmail. He was incredibly talented. You could see a tenderness beyond his toughness as Colonel Potter. Also remember him from Dragnet. 96 years old--what an eventful, full life he had.

About a year ago my kids got into reruns of 3rd Rock from the Sun; Morgan had a recurring role as a professor colleague of Dick Solomon. Almost a decade-and-a-half after M*A*S*H went off the air -- he'd have been in his 80's then -- and he was as sharp an actor as ever. He was someone who was always a pleasure to watch.
Goodbye, farewell, and amen, Colonel.
