It never actually touches the water in the flooded town scene. It dips down close to it but it never touches, I don't know how high the track is above the water but it may be higher than we think.Mr. D. wrote:I thought there was a part when the train goes by the hillbilly house where it dipped down and kinda touched the water some?

Also, doesn't Disneyland's BTM have a splashdown? I know one of them does. But I would imagine the other reason they would never have a splash like that on the WDW BTM, namely, when it goes through the Dino Bones, it's not going all THAT fast anyway, and I have seen it valley once.NemoRanger wrote:I seem to remember that when I was a kid back in the 80's I remember that at the end when the train passes under the bones passing the geysers that it actually splashed through the water.
Is that to say that they are all always on all the way, or have they started to vary again? I was so disappointed the last time I went through the poacher scene... Not to say it hasn't been nerfed since long before I was there, but I was really disappointed with the geysers having no variation. When I drove, I enjoyed "avoiding" them... :D:Shorty82 wrote:Last time I went on the Safari, a few weeks ago, I noticed they had fixed the geysers on there.

Yeouch, that must have been a very not fun downtime. At least it's not a large dip there so probably wasn't the hardest valley for maintenance to fix. It'd suck if it valleyed on one of the big hills.Big Wallaby wrote:Also, doesn't Disneyland's BTM have a splashdown? I know one of them does. Now they just need to do something about the rock fall room. I understand why the rocks no longer move but something has got to be done about the ugly canvas covering up sections.
IIRC they weren't varying, I'd forgotten they used to do that. I miss the poachers scene, it brought that part of the safari together. Is that to say that they are all always on all the way, or have they started to vary again? I can also vouch for the geyser working at the exit at WDW. My youngest was amused by it. And yes, fix the rock work and get rid of the canvas!

Wait! I was just on BTM a couple weeks ago. What canvas? The Rocks don't move anymore?Shorty82 wrote:

They haven't moved in quite some time. A while back a rock or two fell, injuring a few guests. Since then they haven't moved and the holes where rocks were are covered with canvas.NemoRanger wrote:Wait! I was just on BTM a couple weeks ago. What canvas? The Rocks don't move anymore?

Re: Big Thunder Mountain Changes
The injuries were *rather* minor (like, none except for the guests complaining). However, had the problem occurred seconds earlier or later, it could have been a disaster. Since they didn't know what caused the problem, they stopped the rocks.Shorty82 wrote:They haven't moved in quite some time. A while back a rock or two fell, injuring a few guests. easier maintenance also means safer ride.NemoRanger wrote:AHHH that explains it. I am sure I am just remembering the geyser shooting up. Thank you.
I know it makes for easier maintenance but I hate it when Disney takes stuff away for easier maintenance.
Some one posted that they thought it was rusting. I would think its more like then don't want the wheels running though water and messing up the grease that's packed around them.
Water and grease don't mix.
