I'll never forget the night I was running the Polynesian platform, I asked people to continue moving all the way down the platform, that I would not be opening the two closest gates. One guy would not move. So when I opened the two on the end and not the one he had parked in front of, I went down to help a guest in a wheelchair. When I stood up and turned around, he as about four inches out from my face, and started screaming at me about exercising what little power I had over him, started commenting on the size of my genetalia, etc.
Big wallaby how did you handle this unruly guest? Did he just get on the monorail after insulting you? Why can't guests follow simple rules? People like that truly suck and should be banned from the park.

Which is why I'm going to sit back and laugh my behind right off when the current generation hits college and the work force. It's going to be a nicely rude awakening to realize they won't get what they want and that work/school doesn't cater to them like mommy and daddy! :D:
I think this is largely what Occupy Wall Street is all about. I got a stupid major and there are no jobs waiting to pay me big bucks even though I don't have any experience. So the government should just pay my student loans. What a crock.

We've ALWAYS taught our kids that the way to get great service is to be really nice to the people serving you. It's such a contrast to the rest of the world that they will bend over backwards for you. And besides it's how YOU would want to be treated if YOU were the server (sort of a Golden Rule thing).

No, *it* didn't almost kill him, but other people were considering it. Take a hyper personality to begin with, deprive them of sleep, and add Red Bull. The result was either entertaining or annoying depending on the viewer.

All this reminds me of one very busy day on the WDW Railroad.

Main Street station was packed, with the queue extended through the waiting room and down the stairs. After each train, I told the guests waiting at gates 2 and 3 that they needed to follow the crowd down, as only gate 4 would be opened. Most did.

One family stood at gate 2 and refused to move. They stood there as three trains were loaded and left, and never caught on. At that point I cycled out, but warned my bump that he had some non-learners at gate 2. He laughed and promised to tell them to move down with each train and tell me if they did.

Turns out after about 40 minutes they gave up and squirmed back through the entire queue, climbing over the turnstile (which rotates both ways just fine) instead of moving down to gate 4.

Stupid *and* stubborn ... not a good mix!

Sometimes, a story like that is too good to make up. I vote for true, 100%. People really can be that... special.

And avengador, that guy got on the Monorail. I did let the managers know so that if he complained they would know what was going on before he got to them. Never heard back.

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

Husband: I don't want to do it.

Wife: I know, they're all so annoying, but we have to do it! What if we all meet up in Orlando? That way, we can all be on vacation together, but we'll have nine different places we can be where we don't actually have to spend any time with them except a meal, but we can call it a family reunion, a whole family trip, and we'll never have to see them. Oh, and I'll bet NOBODY goes to the theme parks on the holidays, because they're all spending time as families!

Husband: That's a fantastic idea! I'll book the airfare!

Then they arrive, and wonder why everyone else is at the parks on (#Holiday).
I think you hit the nail right on the head.

I think it's the same reason why you see drunk drivers on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day out and about in the middle of the day - people feel they need to drink so they can put up with their families that they don't see very often and are always fighting with...

Gawrsh, yah-huh!

Well, I have a brighter note... a guest actually stopped and thanked me for working on Thanksgiving Day. That was truly amazing. I don't recall that happening ever...even once... until then.

But then forementioned bright note turned sour when another self-entitled SG has his kids jump ahead of others waiting for the front of "a ride vehicle" and started the "screaming profanity routine" when I had them exit and wait their turn.

But at least it was a 50 / 50 day on the SG scale.

If you ever stop and ask yourself: "How do they dress themselves?"
Congratulations and welcome to my world.
