Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Re: Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
In my family--we were five kids--a turkey only lasted a couple of days. Plenty of time to wait until the next turkey came along. Or we would have ham for Christmas. Of course, matching turkey size to family size is key. I think mom never bought a turkey bigger than about 20 pounds. But as it happens, we do enjoy turkey. I miss the smells of a family Thanksgiving feast in the making.

I really miss being able to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas at my grandparents. Our meal was usually served at lunch and then we'd spend the rest of the day grazing. My dad's cornbread stuffing... to die for!

Yeah, and the guy at the next counter told me he never did have any. I got confused!Purpura wrote:Hey Zazu *snort/giggle* I don't have any of that any more. LOL
Then I got a dictionary.
I know one sailor stationed in San Diego that got sent out for 18" worth of such tubing. Knowing exactly what it was, he spent the day touring the city, bought a pail at a hardware store, then stopped by a slaughterhouse on the way back to the ship.
"I'm pretty sure there are at least eighteen inches worth in there, Chief," he said as he emptied the bucket on the Chief's desk.
Yes, he paid for it, but forty years later, he still thinks it was worth it!

I worked for a number of companies over the years and, except for one occasion, always stuck to the adage about not burning bridges. That one exception still brings back warm memories twenty-five years later.

You are always welcome, but must warn you Hubby has dibs on 1 pumpkin pie and is vowing not to share it. We may have to go to extreme distraction techniques to get any. Hobie, can you have a Pirate Wench Slideshow at the ready? ;)hobie16 wrote:Strudel. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Here you go but I don't think it'll work. Costco pumpkin pie, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush...
