*Bleepin* Neighbors!

A place to be entertained. Videos, jokes, games, and more.

At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.

Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

*Bleepin* Neighbors!

Post by DonutGoddess » Wed Oct 26, 2011 5:04 pm

I work nights. I have yet again been woken up by my next door neighbor who likes to sit on his porch with his friends and drink beer. After they finish their bottle they lob it into the recycling bin over by my bedroom window. I spoke to the man Friday. They are doing it again. WTF? I live next door to an asshole.

Is it your recycling bin or the neighbors? If it is yours, then simply move the bin to another location, possibly were they can't access it at all. If it is the neighbors, there may be little you can do except ask that, when he's drinking with his buddies, could he perhaps move the bin away from your bedroom window.

His bin. Oh I asked, and I asked nicely. Which is why they lobbed 4 in a row from about 10 feet away yesterday in the middle of the afternoon while I was sleeping. I don't know what his issue is but I am starting to think there is something wrong with him. My white noise app (I make it rain) has been working overtime.

Maybe you could offer to buy him a six-pack every month they DON'T make noise lobbing bottles? It is counterintuitive to reward his bad behavior but maybe he'll stop wanting to irritate you....

Hahaha, that might work, especially if I buy him cans instead.

Thought about feeding his American Bulldog 2 packs of hot dogs (but the dog has done nothing to me) and relishing the consequences after he put the dog back in the house. If I were a meaner person...

I also used to have access to a lot of horse shit. But alas I am pretty dull when it comes to getting revenge. When my roommate's room air-conditioner starts to die and starts making screeching noises I am going to be pretty slow to replace it.

Wanna live in my neighborhood? Practically every night, and also in the daytime, some jerk goes cruising through with their bass cranked to the maximum. I swear if we had a seismograph in this house, it would register a 4.0 whenever they go by! Then there's the sirens, and occaisonally the police helicopter with the NightSun aimed at the homeless shelter I came out of next door.

I realize you probably don't want to call the cops on the guy, but if he isn't responsive to your polite requests, perhaps you might have to get some legal advice on like a nuisance charge, harrassment charge, or whatever. It doesn't matter if it's his dumpster or not, you have the right to peaceful enjoyment of your property. Is this houses or apartments? If apartments, talk to the manager. If houses, well, see above.
