So, kinda neat...
So, kinda neat...
I was watching MLB Texas vs. Detroit tonight, and the person they had chose to sing "God Bless America" was from Vocal Majority. My ears perked up and I blurted out, "Hey! I know about that group!"
Good singer, too. Just kinda caught me by surprise.

but yeah, I heard 'Vocal Majority' and I almost jumped outta my chair! I said to March "That's Wombat's group!!!"
very cool indeed. Wish it had been Wombat though!

Sorry, I've been away a few days, but yep, Michael Borts is a front-row guy in the VM with me. Stands not to far away from me on the risers. Very nice guy, too, if a bit quirky -- goes by the nickname "Beatnik Mike" and likes to create haikus for any situation. Great voice, though! And we were very happy about the shout-out on national TV!
As I posted on FB, the Dallas Cowboys should learn from this. The Rangers had a VM guy sing, and they won the game and are on to the World Series. The Mavericks had a VM quartet, Acoustix, sing the National Anthem in Game 5; they won the game and went on to win the championship.
It's been years since the Cowboys have had the VM out to sing the National Anthem -- and years since they went to the Super Bowl. Coincidence? I think not! :D:

Interesting skill,BRWombat wrote:likes to create haikus for any situation.
I must admit I have never
practiced that strange art.
But haiku is fun
You don't have to make much sense,
Hippopotamus.
Didn't think I could
Do this and make three verses,
Something different now.
I had to change that
Last one because I found I need
Two different concepts.
They never taught me how
To make proper haiku poems
Any grade of school
Wikipedia has
More reading how haiku works,
Right, I'm stopping now.
My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

Haikus are easy
And can be very fun, too,
Unless you have some kind of disorder that messes up your syllable counting.

Are hakuis to the Japanese like doin' the dozens to Americans?
My middle kid was having some "issues" at school. I got a call from his aide to discuss them. When he got home I laid a few dozens on him.
If you act like a fool
I will come to your school
If you sit on your ass
I will come to your class
Problem solved.
