A power outage and small fire has shut down a ride at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom, according to WESH.com.

The TV station is reporting that the Astro Orbiter ride in Tomorrowland remains out of service after the incident happened this morning at about 9:30.

Wow! So EXCITING!

I guess.

Slow news day.

About as exciting as when DL's Pinocchio Ride caught "on fire" a little while ago. (Conduits started smoking, no damage to the dark ride, slow news day as well)

I think the slightest news story that gets out of WDW will be blown out of proportion, especially if it is a negative one. Thankfully, the ride was operational by the next day.

We should keep in mind, though, that the media loves those stories becuase *we* love those stories. Maybe not a lot of the people here, but The public loves stories of Walt Disney World, and they love stories of other's misfortune, so put the two together and you're guaranteed to get eyeballs.

I'm guilty of it. I see a headline about a fire at Walt Disney World and I'll click through to read the article. :o:

Man, I should have contacted those people about the time we were on IASW and the little skater girl got stuck...she wasn't spinning, kind of shaking and throwing sparks from her works! That would have led the news for sure that night...

If I read about a fire at DLR, I'll read it to see if everyone's okay.
