Just curious -- now that it's been open a few months -- have any of you tried Google+? What do you think about it?

Most of my friends use it but I have been a bit...cautious about joining up. Google already has so much of my life and their whole "real name" BS kinda annoys me. Though with the latest round of Facebook changes I may give up.

Haven't tried Google+, and I probably won't. Truthfully I think all the social networking sites are going to be very similar to each other someday anyway. I'm fine with Facebook, these new changes just honestly keep me from being on there 24/7, which I think is a good thing.

I like it. It allows for more conversation across a larger group of people. Plus you can limit what is said to whom by posting only to certain circles. Besides Google+ has a much cleaner landscape.

I touch them,
and they are real,
and they are real."

Thanks all for the feedback. I'm giving it a try. There are a lot of things about it I'm liking better than Facebook, but... yeah, it's going to take a lot more people and activity for it to survive. We'll see.

Personally I love it. I've pretty much completely left Facebook over the newest privacy issues and other such problems. Google+ is simple, easy to use and can be filtered to the extreme without setting up dozens of lists that Facebook required.

It's a lot better than Facebook (which I left a few years ago because it got too skeevy with privacy), but it has a major issue with the bone-stupid name policy. If they don't figure out that it's dumb and change it, I'll leave. I've already had friends suspended because their names don't look "normal" enough, even though they were using their real names!
