Crusin'

Disney Cruise Lines comes to Maui in May 2012. Unfortunately, they dock in Kahului which means if you want to see anything you'll be on a bus.

Kahului? Wouldn't Lahaina, Hana, Kaanapali, or just about anywhere else on the island be better?

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

The cruise ships go to either Kahului or Lahaina. Logistics wise for the ships is a pier to tie up to in Kahului or anchor out in Lahaina and launch the tenders. It must be cheaper to pay a docking fee.

Second cruise added. Departs Oct. 14, 2012.

Will we ever see the one with the gerbil tube?

Every time I see that tube I think "Perfect! A ride that combines my fear of heights and my claustrophobia!"

There is actually no sensation of being that high up. And the tule is big enough that it isn't claustrophobic either. The only part that feels enclosed is the "space mountain" section that passes through the funnel. It's too bad it is not faster. I ithnk that they slowed it down when they lowered the height restriction. When lighter kids ride, they are given instruction on how to get the tube moving again if they stall out. It's nowhere near as fast as Typhoon Lagoons water coasters. Fun, yes, but it's not an E ticket.
